I’m sure most of you have seen this passed on through e-mail. I know that’s where I’ve gotten it — again and again. But it’s good, so I want to publish it here, with a few of my comments, if you don’t mind. I guess what I’m amazed about most is the vast number of very foolish people who actually support the examples from 2007.
HIGH SCHOOL — 1957 vs. 2007
Scenario 1:
Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck’s gun rack.
1957 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack’s shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2007 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.
So where’s the harm in a shotgun at the school? No, seriously. I know there are many people today who are absolutely terrified of pieces of metal in the shape of guns. However, I wish those people would just take their fear and keep it to themselves. In our example, not only did Jack not harm anyone, nor was anyone in danger, if anything people were MORE safe because of the gun! It is true that when people know they might be shot, they tend to behave better.
Instead, in 2007, the simple act of having a gun on your person is enough to get you thrown in jail and your life completely ruined. People might claim we still have a second amendment, but I would disagree. I submit that there are more places today where you will be jailed for just having a gun than there are where that’s not the case. We have no second amendment today, and with Democrats in charge, you can be sure there will be fewer and fewer guns around for people to use to protect themselves from government.
Scenario 2:
Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school.
1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.
2007 - Police called and SWAT team arrives — they arrest both Johnny and Mark. They are both charged them with assault and both expelled even though Johnny started it.
Breaking news for liberal weenies (especially those in these government schools): people have been fighting since Cain and Abel, and no amount of laws is going to make them suddenly stop. Once again, like most of these examples, this is government interfering where it doesn’t belong. In the example, who is hurt? No one! That’s how male kids fight — they make up and it’s over. But no, in today’s insane liberal government school system, their lives are ruined forever. No, I’m not supporting having fights — I’m just pointing out that they are a part of growing up. When government stops people from growing up, they end up with immature adults — as you can clearly see by looking around today.
Scenario 3:
Jeffrey will not be still in class, he disrupts other students.
1957 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal’s office and given a good paddling by the Principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2007 - Jeffrey is given huge doses of Ritalin. He becomes a zombie. He is then tested for ADD. The school gets extra money from the state because Jeffrey has a disability.
Just disgusting. This is just one of the huge reasons that I strongly oppose public schools. They WILL drug your child, whether you want them to or not — primarily because it gets them more cash. Keep in mind, the primary purpose of government education systems today is to get and spend taxpayer cash. Brainwashing children is just a side benefit. Paddling works, no matter who fool tells you otherwise or claims it’s “abuse.” It is not abuse, it’s punishment. And it’s damn appropriate at times.
Scenario 4:
Billy breaks a window in his neighbor’s car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.
1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college and becomes a successful businessman.
2007 - Billy’s dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy is removed to foster care and joins a gang. The state psychologist is told by Billy’s sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy’s mom has an affair with the psychologist.
Once again, there is such a thing as physical punishment — and it works! People tend to avoid pain, especially children. And despite all those foolish do-gooders intents, what matters in cases like this is the results. Preventing a parent from disciplining their child WILL screw up the child and the family — not that the typical social worker do-gooder cares, as long as they get their paycheck. And you can be sure, such agencies measure success by the number of people they can screw up and families they can destroy — because they get more taxpayer cash that way.
Scenario 5:
Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.
1957 - Mark shares his aspirin with the Principal out on the smoking dock.
2007 - The police are called and Mark is expelled from school for drug violations. His car is then searched for drugs and weapons.
Why is it that since the left insists that the war on terrorism is a failure that they can’t admit that the war on drugs is even more of a failure? Can you show anything that shows any part of the war on drugs has had any success in ANY measurable way? I don’t think it can be done. And this “zero tolerance” in government schools is so beyond stupid, I can’t believe that people can actually keep a straight face when they claim “I’m just doing my job” when they arrest people for having aspirin. But amazingly, thanks in part to the government education brainwashing, so many agents of government have no problem following any orders they are given — no matter how foolish, insane, or unconstitutional those orders might be.
Scenario 6:
Pedro fails high school English.
1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.
2007 - Pedro’s cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro’s English teacher. English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.
Once again, this one is about cash. If Pedro fails, the school might be punished with less cash. If Pedro passes, then the school gets awards and more cash. Therefore, Pedro passes. And of course, that doesn’t even go into the people who are today claiming that “immigrant” is a special, protected, preferred class of race (while working people are not). And one thing that shows how insane and foolish all these people are who are demanding kids not learn English is the number of places around the world who speak English. Ever look at foreign universities in countries around the world? The vast majority of them speak English and want instructors who speak and can teach in English. But again, the self-serving bums who demand that English not be required care about themselves and no one else.
Scenario 7:
Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the Fourth of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle and blows up a red ant bed.
1957 - Ants die.
2007- ATF, Homeland Security and the FBI are all called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates his parents — and all siblings are removed from their home and all computers are confiscated. Johnny’s dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.
Have you noticed the common theme here? Who was hurt in this example? That’s right, no one. No one was bothered, no one was in danger. And no, I don’t give a darn about some ants. But today’s government honestly doesn’t care about the purpose of a government in a free society. Government should be concerned and involved when people endanger other people — not EVER when people endanger themselves. But as you can see, government is more interested in creating criminals than permitting freedom today.
Scenario 8:
Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary hugs him to comfort him.
1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.
2007 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.
Now admittedly today there are a HUGE number of sexual predators in the government school system. But a hug by a teacher or a kiss by a 6-year old are not them. One of the reasons government schools are so bad is because the teachers are so limited. Give them a little freedom and they might actually be able to teach kids. But today, anything that allows freedom is simply not permitted, especially in anything associate with government!
So I hope you enjoyed my comments on the e-mail I’m sure you have received. And I wish just one person who supports each of these examples for 2007 would get their butts up and move out of America and leave me alone. But since they are making cash off my labor, I’m betting that’s not going to happen, is it?
