More Judges Making Laws

Just another article to point out to those who still believe that the Constitution has anything to do with this country. Once upon a time the Constitution was the law of the land. And despite the semi-annual group of selfish bums in Washington who claim to uphold and defend that Constitution, it’s routinely and completely ignored.

In this case, once again, a judge has made law. Basically the process goes like this: Judge decides they want gay people to get married. The People of the state disagree. The Legislature of the state doesn’t want that to happen. The governor of the state agrees with the people and doesn’t want to redefine marriage. But the judge doesn’t care, so the judge simply makes a decision that uses the state power of force to allows gays to get married — without approval of the governor, or even the legislature passing a law.

If we lived in a real Constitutional Republic, the other two branches would simply ignore the judges — it’s called checks and balances. When something new appears, if all three branches don’t agree, it doesn’t happen. The legislature should just ignore the ruling and not allow any funds to be used for gay marriages. The executive branch would simply refuse to use it’s people and facilities to enforce the new judicially created “law.”

But that would be if we lived in a free country where people followed the Constitution — just to let you know what it would look like if we did.
