There’s not really anyone left to trust in DC, is there?

Capitalism, Fairness, and Congress

Life isn’t fair. Anyone who disagrees with that statement can only live in a fantasy-land. Of course, the idea of life being fair IS one of the #1 ways that socialism and fascism is introduced in formerly free countries. And it appears the vast majority of the current sitting Congress is in support of everything in life being “fair” — and that same majority is clearly in favor of crushing freedom in the name of “fairness.”

Note recent statements of House members:

“Your company is now bankrupt and our country is in a state of crisis,” said Waxman, a liberal from California. “You get to keep $480m. I have a very basic question: Is that fair?”

First, socialist Waxman, who clearly absolutely despises freedom, it doesn’t matter. Since when does the Constitution, the law you are SUPPOSED to follow, say one word about making things fair? What part of the Constitution says, “Congress shall have the power to make everything fair?” It’s not there. By claiming to make things fair, even by making ANY attempt to force things to be fair, you are in clear violation of the Constitution and your oath to the Constitution. But I’m sure neither Waxman, nor any of his peers, care one bit about that.

Second, it IS fair. It’s absolutely and completely fair. I’ve got news for you, Mr. Waxman — IT’S NOT YOUR COMPANY! If Mr. Fuld owns the company, he can do anything he wants with it. If he wants to give himself a salary of $2 or $2 million, that’s up to him — IT’S HIS COMPANY. Go ahead and whine about stockholders — the stockholders voted to put him in charge, making it his company.

When miserable, selfish, greedy bums like Mr. Waxman start blasting free people for being free, you know we are in very serious trouble in this county. Mr. Waxman and the majority of his “good friends” in Congress have now decided THEY are the law and they can and will do anything to make things “fair” — as only they can perceive them. The ONLY possible way Congress can make something fair is by crushing freedom completely.

“Is that fair, for a CEO of a company that’s now bankrupt, to make that kind of money? It’s just unimaginable to so many people.”

Absolutely and completely. In fact, that’s the definition of fair and free. You see, if I own a company that’s worth $10, in a free country, I can take my $10 and leave the company. THAT’S FREEDOM. Only in Mr. Waxman’s socialist dream of a country does HE, personally, have the power to decide whether I can take $10 that I earn from my own company. And yes, that’s honestly what Waxman and his peers in Congress want (and have effectively given themselves that power with the bailout law).

And the best Waxman line of all:

“You made all this money taking risks with other people’s money.”

And where did you get YOUR money, Waxman? I’ll tell you — by using force and taking it from people in the form of taxes. That’s where Waxman gets ALL of the money he spends. He is literally making a living off taking other people’s money by force. In the case of Mr. Fuld, people gave him their money FREELY. What an incredible difference.

Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
