As many of my regular readers know, I’m a HUGE fan of amateur sports. I love the Olympics — when there are amateurs competing. I strongly support returning to the rule that says if you’re a professional in ANY sport, then you don’t belong in the Olympics.

I’ve also strongly opposed China hosting the Olympics. I know and understand the Chinese government. They exist to retain power over their people. They are a horrible, oppressive government that destroys anyone who dares to disagree with them. They are an avowed enemy of the United States. And Bush simply should not attend the opening ceremonies, as it gives a platform to the communists to garner even more world support.

I was open to the idea that having the games there might force the country to open up. It might be used as a platform to show the Chinese about freedom. And the Chinese government has been promising for years that they would open up for the Olympics. Of course, they lied. Sorry, but that’s what the Chinese and other evil governments do. ANY statement made by the Chinese government (or ANY government) simply cannot be trusted or taken at face value. The government will tell you what you need to know and do, and you are not to question them. Of course, more and more that’s exactly how the government in this country works, too, so I guess it makes sense to Bush to support them, doesn’t it?

And not surprisingly, the International Olympic Committee has absolutely no problem with the Chinese government censoring anything and everything they want DURING the Olympics.
