Bathroom Seat: $2 million?

I’m sure by now you’ve heard the story about the fellow who was forced to sit in a bathroom for a few hours. Did you know that if you are forced into a bathroom that you deserve $2 million? Well that’s what Gokhan Mutlu and his bottom-feedling, ambulance-chasing, slime-ball lawyer claims.

I just wonder how anyone can possibly argue that this is anything other than legal extortion. What sort of person is this Gokhan Mutlu? Does he really think it’s good to punish an airline for this? Is he a simple person who’s being exploited by a greedy bastard lawyer? Certainly he is not a sane, rational person. Imagine what you would do, faced with the same situation. I’d laugh. I would have a blast. I might poop for 2 hours — or at least tell people I did. He claims he was “disgraced?” Why, does he not normally USE a bathroom? Sure, I might have been bored for 3 hours, but personally, I probably would have fallen asleep. I might have rearranged the furniture in the bathroom — but you can bet there’s no way I would sue them for $2 million. That’s blatant abuse of the legal system and Gokhan and his lawyer should be fined — and would be, if there were justice in America today. You can bet they won’t be and instead the airline will be forced to settle for an “undisclosed sum.” Then we all pay because we have to pay for the increased cost of doing business. Greedy bastards, that’s the only way to describe Gokhan and his lawyer.

Excellent Economic Times… For Government

I’ve mentioned before that during these recent times where the average, working, productive person is having troubles economically (not bad trouble, but few are unaffected by the massive gas prices), government is seeing no problem at all. Instead, government continues to just do whatever they want, no matter what. Back in the last decade, the North Carolina government expanded exponentially because “times were good and we could afford it.” Now that times are bad, government continues it’s massive expansion because “we can’t afford not to.”

Witness North Carolina governor Easley and his suggested 7% raise for bureaucrats. And yes, once again, the bureaucrats need to nothing to get their 7% raise. In fact, they can actually work LESS, produce LESS, and they still get their 7%. When is the last time you got a 7% raise? I bet if anyone reading this actually ever got a raise that large (and wasn’t “working” for government), you did something HUGE to get that — in other words, you were more productive. A raise of that size is generally unheard of for productive people.

But this isn’t about producing, it’s about leeching and taking. This is about government using it’s monopoly on force to buy votes so they can stay in power. This is about supporting the bureaucrat at the direct expense of people who work and produce. Go ahead, try and convince me we have freedom and free markets in this country. That’s simply not the case. Instead, we have a government that uses it’s monopoly on force to do, quite literally, anything they want without any limits, ever.

Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
