If I were to claim that I was offended because you said that 2+2 = 4, what would you think? I bet you’d think I was nuts. How about if I were to gather a bunch of my friends together because we were ALL offended because you said that 2+2=4? Then we started burning stuff. And then we started killing people — all simply because you stated that 2+2=4 and we were offended. How utterly insane would you think we are?
That’s what’s going on in the Muslim world after the release of Fitna. It’s a film that does no more than state the truth. It doesn’t attempt to pass judgment. It doesn’t attempt to interpret or even comment — it just states open, clear facts. And for that, various Muslims are screaming for the author’s head — literally.
I found the film at Sweetness & Light via Fox News. I watched the whole thing (it’s about 15 minutes long). It was 100% factual. The film mostly showed actual verses of their holy book and recordings of muslim leaders. That’s all. I think perhaps those that are bothered by it simply do not want people to realize that the religion is based on hatred and violence. If you’re not muslim, THEY WANT YOU DEAD. There is no alternative.
But so many people defend it, that it’s incredible. Australia’s Foreign Minister Stephen Smith is offended that someone would point out that mulsims are killing people. Is he a muslim? I don’t know — perhaps someone should ask him. But know what? Muslims ARE killing people! Their religion and their religious leaders TELL THEM TO TODAY. Smith “strongly rejects” the open, honest truth. Why is Mr. Smith so blind? I suspect either he is a muslim or he’s being paid by them.
The EU and the UN “condemn” the film. No, they do NOT condemn violence. They don’t condemn muslims killing anyone who disagrees with them. No, they don’t condemn muslims spreading their religion by beheading innocent people. They condemn those who point out the facts.
Hundreds of Indonesian students took to the streets in protest over the film. Apparently they’re very angry that people will dare expose their religion as the hate-filled religion of violence that it is. Either that or they’re just using it as an excuse to commit MORE violence in the name of their religion.
Jordan and Iran are working with their allies in the UN to attempt to “sanction” the Dutch. I hope they succeed. Then we will let each member of the world decide on which side they stand: with freedom or with muslims and terrorism. Incredibly, I don’t know where the US would stand today — and I’m even less sure when the next president gets in. The Muslim people have declared war on anyone who disagrees with them. That’s not my words, it’s their own words. I just wish more people would see them for what they are. It will not end until they stop or all who oppose them are dead.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, take a peek at the List of things that offend Muslims. It’s not a joke, it’s an actual serious list of things that actually offend Muslims. It very clearly illustrates that idea that trying to appease this religion, whose primary goal is to make the world submit, is not only impossible, but absolutely limitless. It seems that there is nothing you can do that DOESN’T offend a Muslim today. So submit or die. That’s their rules, not mine. Nice, huh?
Inspired by that list, I thought I’d start up another list. Feel free to help me decide what to call the list. Right now I’m thinking of calling it the “List of World Leaders With Guts.” So far, it’s a pretty darn short list. The following world leaders all believe that freedom is good and communism by force is bad:
Angela Merkel, German Chancellor
Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland
Václav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic
Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Germany’s Foreign Minister
Wolfgang Schäuble, Germany Interior Minister Responsible for Sport
Other world leaders who openly support communism as a viable alternative to freedom and free people:
George Bush, President United States of America
Gordon Brown, British Prime Minister
You see, those on the first list will not attend the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games in China (who is actively, opening killing any people who ask to be free), while those on the second list ARE attending and supporting China and it’s oppressive government.

So there’s the fellow, Alan Mills, who is running against Karen Ray in North Carolina’s 95th House district this year. Someone told me that he was walking around my neighborhood this past weekend, but I missed him. He did leave a door hanger at my house. Since I’m not a huge fan of Miss Ray, I checked out his flyer.
At the very start, he claims to be “conservative.” Well, years ago, that meant something. Today, just about anyone politically to the right of Hillary Clinton claims to be a conservative, too. As I’ve mentioned, I hope to nail down exactly what that means in North Carolina when I attend (and live blog) the North Carolina Conservative Leadership Conference this year. So I can’t give someone points for claiming to be conservative any more. Next.
He’s got three bullet points — presumably his big issues. #1 and #3 are the same: “Iredell County isn’t getting enough cash from Raleigh.” Oh, and state government spending is increasing too much.
So let’s see if I’ve got this right — government is spending too much money — but mainly only because they’re not giving enough to Iredell County. Does this mean he wants MORE money for the county? It sure sounds like it. And he’s going to get that by reducing government spending? No chance. I know how Raleigh works. If he wants more cash for Iredell, he can get it — as long as he votes for even MORE cash for other counties. So he supports more government spending, basically.
He wants more government cash for “better schools and better jobs.” Neither one of those things is a function of government. Government is NOT supposed to be a “jobs for the stupid” program. Government shouldn’t be in the business of creating jobs, period! But Mr. Mills supports using government to create jobs.
His other big points is that government’s corrupt and Jim Black, Democrat Speaker of the House is in a federal jail. Yeah, I’m pretty sure no one cares any more. He’s gone — but people still elected him after it was revealed what he did, before he was convicted.
So it’s not looking good for Mr. Mills. Let’s turn the door card over, shall we?
On the other side is a bunch of information about Mr. Mills — “personal, professional, and political:”
Degree in Education
Graduate of Law School
Former High School Teacher
Founder of Law Practice
Member of the Chamber of Commerce
Member of the State Bar Assn
Wow. I guess there’s a tiny chance that someone could make it through all that without being completely and totally indoctrinated into the school of massive government, but I bet not. People in education are taught that government is supreme to all powers on the planet earth. People in Law School are taught there is quite literally no such thing as right and wrong, only what the law says. The Chamber of Commerce is a business organization that uses government to limit competition.
After the person left the door hanger on my door, I walked around outside, looking for him. One of my neighbors said that Mr. Mills was in the neighborhood. I really wanted to talk to him. From what I’m reading, this fellow is just barely to the right of Mrs. Bill Clinton. He appears to support government in just about every way possible. Sorry, but there’s no way I could support this guy without some strong assurances from him.
You see, I’m not looking for the “perfect” candidate. I’m just looking for someone who honestly wants to reduce government and increase freedom. I want someone who believes government is supposed to derive its power from the people, instead of dictating to the people right and wrong. Unfortunately, it looks like I’m not going to have anyone like that to vote for at any level of the elections this year.

If you’ve never read Chuck Baldwin, you’re really missing out — well, if you support freedom, anyway. Mr. Baldwin really, really “gets it” when it comes to freedom. And now he’s really got his tongue firmly planted in his cheek:
I think it is time that we all stood up and gave the Republican Party a big round of applause. I mean, they have done us all a huge favor. By an overwhelming majority, the GOP has prevented a potential plague from enveloping these United States of America, and I think it is time that we acknowledged it. Yes, the GOP stopped a potential catastrophe. Without the combined efforts of millions of Republicans, there is no telling what kind of disaster might have ensued. Let’s hear it for the GOP! Hip Hip Hooray!
You really should read the whole thing. It’s a good one.

Here you go. In America today, 12-year olds dancing naked for cash is perfectly okay. It’s quite literally not illegal. Go ahead, watch them all you want, laws and culture approve. If you don’t like it, you’re a “facist” according to the slime who support it. “Free Speech” today means quite literally anyone can do anything to anyone at any time. Absolutely disgusting. Dallas should be incredibly embarrassed. I bet they’re not.
I’m sure by now you’ve also seen the whiny woman who complained (and wants cash) because she had to remove her “nipple rings” to get on an airplane — despite the very clear warnings in the TSA instructions that people may be required to remove those exact items. Now I’m not defending the TSA here — I think they’re a complete and total waste of time. I think the TSA has done not one good thing. I don’t think the TSA has protected us, nor ever will protect anyone from anything, ever. I think it’s a government jobs program to give cash to people with no skills — just so I’m clear. What I want to point out is that the woman was 37. She’s 37 and has “nipple rings.” I guess the whole concept of “maturity” just went over her head, didn’t it?
No, I’m not advocating for government control and regulation of such things, I’m just pointing out that this woman is incredibly immature for even having such things. Sure, she should be free to do so — just as I should be free to point and laugh at her for being a fool. Then again, that would just “offend” her and she’d want an “apology” and cash from me, I’m sure.
Welcome to American culture today.

Crazy busy today, but I just had to get this one up here. Newt really shows how utterly incompetent government bureaucracy REALLY is. You just can’t argue with it. Government is incapable of doing nearly anything — so why do we continue to let them try? And just think — under our next president (any of the three), it will continue to grow and expand.

Which of these three actions is most likely to result in physical harm and danger?
1. Smoking one cigarette.
2. Drinking one beer.
3. Having normal sex.
4. Having homosexual sex.
No, really, which of those has the highest probability of long-term effects?
Smoking one cigarette may or may not increase your risk of cancer. No one is really sure, but it appears that a single cigarette has no measurable effect. It may get you addicted, but it might also turn you off cigarettes for the rest of your life.
Drinking one beer, if you drink the whole thing in one sip, and if it’s your first ever, might get you drunk. You might fall down and hurt yourself. Yeah, that’s about it.
Having sex is strongly correlated with getting pregnant. In fact, it’s quite common for someone to get pregnant from having sex. That’s an effect that will last your entire life (even if you kill the baby). It’s also an easy way to spread STDs.
Having homosexual sex has a high chance of spreading worse STDs, such as AIDS. In fact, in some areas, people who engage in homosexual sex decrease their life span by up to 20 years. That’s a pretty strong, long-term effect for a single action, isn’t it?
It seems quite clear to me that the last two have a MUCH greater chance of having long-term effects. So can anyone explain to me why the first two are utterly evil and strongly banned in government educational institutions, but the last two are openly encouraged for children aged 14-18 in those same institutions?

The VA Tech Lawsuits have been in the news again recently. Now on principle, I strongly oppose lawsuits against government. The ONLY effect they have is to raise taxes. You see, the people who are IN government don’t have to pay these lawsuits with their money — it’s someone else’s money, so they honestly don’t care when they have to pay settlements. The money means absolutely nothing to them.
However, in this case, I think the lawsuits are valid — but individuals should be sued, not the government school. Every individual that voted to approve the rule that said students are not permitted to defend themselves should be personally liable. These people voted to make a rule that said, “You can’t defend yourself, so we take FULL responsibility for your protection.” They failed in their protection. They should pay.
When you remove rights from people, you should assume responsibility for them. Personally, I simply refuse to allow someone to remove those rights so I don’t have to deal with that problem (for the most part). But there was clearly an implied contract that assumed all responsibility for the protection of students. They failed. Sue the individuals, not the government.

Quick note: Every single last one of you people who want to use government to ban smoking or increase taxes on cigarettes “for health program” is a sorry, miserable, selfish, mean-spirited, freedom-hating bastard. That’s just the plain truth.
You can hate smoking all you want. You can despite the smoke that comes from them. You can even believe the few reports that claim second-hand smoke is dangerous (even when there’s plenty of other reports by just as many reputable scientists that claim the opposite). But when you want to use government to force your opinions on other people, you are just plain wrong and mean. You are suggesting that the government KILL people for smoking a cigarette somewhere you don’t like.
Yes, KILL people. That is what happens when you disobey government. If you smoke where you’re not allowed to, government will attempt to stop you. If you refuse to stop, government will use force to stop you. If you resist that force, the government will continue to use more force — up to and including deadly force. So those of you who are supporting these actions of government, do NOT claim to like freedom. Do NOT claim to be supporting American ideas. Instead, admit that you are a miserable socialist and you hate free people — because you do.

Get out of the kitchen. Thanks to the feminization of the US, things like this will just get more common. Women demand to be part of the workplace. Feminists DEMAND that they be treated exactly like men. But when they’re actually treated like men, they demand the men be fired for being sexist.
Thank you, feminists, for screwing up the country. I’d say “I hope you’re happy,” but I bet that you already are.

How did THAT happen? Oh right, because people will choose freedom and capitalism every time.
Remember prohibition? I know, no one but GM Roper was there, but still — you remember the concept, right? Government decided to ban something that people wanted. And people just ignored government. Once again, that same scenario has played out again (gee, just like the “war” on some drugs). Now it’s school children who are ignoring the law — and they’re making profits. Of course, what likely bothers government most is that they’re not getting a share of those profits.
In schools, certain types of SUGAR have been outlawed — so the students have created a black market for it. Great training in our schools, isn’t it? We’re teaching our elementary school kids how to break the law, avoid detection, and hide profits and products from government. At least they’ll be good at it when they get to high school and start doing it with crack.

Have you heard? Jim Snyder is running for Lt. Governor in North Carolina. He says that he’s a “conservative” (whatever that means any more). Browsing his issues page, I was confused.
At the top of the page, he laments that North Carolina is “behind” other states in many areas — like education and “safety of children.” He says we “need” 258 schools and that our state is overflowing with unsafe water. He says our bridges are “substandard” and that communities are dying because they don’t have sewage capacity. And he implies that as Lt. Governor, he will fix everything. He’s starting to sound like Obama there — government is the solution to everything.
Then, later on down the page, he says he supports the 2nd amendment, children from conception, and that taxes are too high. I wonder how he’s going to build 258 schools while lowering taxes. I wonder how he’s going to “fix” all our streams while trying to “stop government expansion.” He complains about the $800 million being spent on educating illegals, but then stops short of saying he’d actually stop that spending.
Then again, I wonder if words have any meaning today. After all, no one ever holds a politicians accountable for campaign promises. Candidates are now expected to lie. And if they’re lying during their campaign, they might as well lie when they’re in office — most of them start running for re-election the day after they win, anyway.
So, I’m going to try and contact Mr. Snyder and see if I can get any “yes or no” answers out of him on some of these issues. Are there any question you’d like to see answered by him? If so, just toss them here in the comments, and I’ll see if I can get some answers for you. All are welcome to ask questions — just try and keep them somehow related to the Lt. Governor’s job or issues he raises on his web pages. Questions about the Iraq war have nothing to do with the NC Lt. Governor.

Recently, I’ve seen a few news articles whining about the “arms race” with police. The articles complain that police “have” to have more “assault” weapons (no reason to use proper English or words, right?) because individuals have more of them.
Perhaps people don’t have any more of them than before. Think about it for a minute. Maybe there’s not actually an issue with more guns, more crime, or even more weapons. Instead, perhaps it’s the enforcement. Perhaps the reason there’s a problem is because police are more and more aggressive. Perhaps it’s because the police are enforcing more laws that crush more freedom. Maybe it’s because people are absolutely terrified of the police — and the people know that it no longer matters who is right and who is wrong.
Maybe people are starting to realize that when the police show up, you’re going to jail, even if you’ve not done a thing wrong. You might get locked up for living at the wrong address. You might go to jail for telling an ambulance driver you don’t want his help. Heck, you might even go to jail for teaching your child that homosexuals are plain wrong.
Perhaps we have reached the point where people realize they’re either going to jail or they’re going to die. And some people might actually be choosing to die, perhaps by taking a few of their oppressors with them.

Word is some independent truckers are considering a “strike” of sorts. It doesn’t appear to be organized, it’s not union-related, and the various organizations are trying to tell the truckers to NOT strike. But I think the truckers really get it — as seen by some of their quotes.
You can tell it’s not union related rather quickly:
What I would personally like to see is our federal and state governments, until our economy recovers, suspend federal and state fuel taxes
If this were the union, they’d call for MORE taxes on everyone and “free” cash for truck drivers. Instead, these guys really get it — they’re trying to point out that one of the big reasons they’re having so much trouble is BECAUSE OF government. And government can’t fix the problem with more government. When there’s economic problems, the way government can help is by REDUCING prices instead of raising taxes. You want to jump-start this economy? Watch what would happen if the government suspended fuel taxes! WOW! That would be huge. Of course, that would mean that government might have to spend less — that’s never going to happen, is it?
And check out the big money quote:
“Our federal government is subsidizing railroads, airlines, banks and farmers,” he said. “Meanwhile, we’re being taxed to death.”
Yup, this guy gets it. The government is giving out money to all sorts of industries — but the truckers aren’t getting subsidies. Perhaps it’s time to end government handouts. Yeah, less government spending, I know. There’s only about 1 elected member of Congress that would vote for that, isn’t there?

When I saw the headlines this morning, I wet ‘em. The headlines claimed that the Charlotte City Council “Votes Against Increasing Water Rates.” I couldn’t believe it. The Charlotte City Council is permanently Democrat. I don’t think in all of recorded history the Democrats on that council have ever voted against a tax increase (call it what you want, when government gets more of my money, that’s a tax increase). I was shocked. Then I read the details.
They didn’t actually vote against the increase in money transfers from working people to the government. Instead, they just postponed the decision. They asked for “more details” from the utilities bureaucrats before they made a final decision. The facts:
Government used force to make people use less water. Therefore, the utilities commission “raised” less money. Now the bureaucrats are demanding more money because they can’t stand spending less. So they want to raise the rates on that water you’re limited in using.
I strongly suspect the main reason the Democrats deferred their decision is because a lot of people showed up at the council meeting. My guess is that they hope less people will show up to complain in a month — and they’ll raise the rates then, when no one is looking. Anyone want to take me up on that bet?

Pelosi actually is supporting freedom. So is Gordon Brown. But not Bush? Tibet should be free. America should support any country that wants to be free — especially one who wants to be free from communism! And one that is being actively repressed by that communist government.
At the very least, the American government shouldn’t openly support the Chinese communists at the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games. Bush cannot claim it’s not political — it IS. And if Bush goes to those opening ceremonies, he is showing support for communism and against freedom.

Once again, we see that while average people, working people, are still having troubles in today’s economy, government is not.
Edwards was just so right. There ARE two Americas: one where people work hard, one that consists of government who is not bound by the rules for the peons (working people).
Addendum: This is the same day on which the Charlotte City Council will meet this evening to decide if they should raise the rates on water because government doesn’t have enough money — because government FORCED people to use less water. What utter, total insanity. But that’s today’s government in America. Freedom shall not enter into the discussion.
