Buying American

Recently, I mentioned my intentions to buy American Beer. I got a lot of great suggestions on beers to try from my wonderful readers (that’s you). Thank you for those. And if I can, I’ll head to the North Carolina Hot Sauce Contest to try some more (beers and hot sauces).

Now I’ve avoided buying Chinese made goods for a long time. I do not like their government policies, and I do my best not to support them. I don’t often make public declarations of my personal boycotts, because I know most companies don’t care — but it makes me feel better about myself. For example, I boycotted Ford when they were supporting radical homosexuals. And I’m currently boycotting McDonalds and Disney because of their open and direct support of radical homosexuals. But more than that, today I want to buy more American-made goods.

To meet my criteria, the company has to be American. For example, the recent Citgo ads are horribly misleading. They are running TV commercials that attempt to tout the “American jobs” and “independent American owners” of the stations — while ALL the profits are going to Chavez and his oppressive thugs. Sorry, Citgo, I don’t that you’re employing a few Americans at minimum wage while you’re sending billions to crush freedom. That’s not working with me.

And Wal-Mart’s slogans don’t work on me, either. They buy the cheapest product, plain and simple. If you note their slogan it does say, “We buy American WHEN WE CAN.” In other words, when it will make them the most profit — which isn’t often. So don’t buy that line — check the labels. Check the molding. And be willing to pay a little more. I am.

At the same time, I realize that there are some things you just can’t buy American right now. Good luck trying to find any electronics parts made completely in American. It’s just not happening.

Also keep in mind, I’m doing this because I’m free. I’m not trying to use the force of government to force anyone else to do anything. I’m willing to pay more for goods that are made completely in America. If you’d like to join me in supporting what’s left of this country, here’s a few ways you can:

First, there’s a book. Now I haven’t read this book, so I can’t talk about what it’s worth. But it’s there if you want it.

Need some boots? Try American Work Boots. I’m an office worker, so I don’t have a need for boots often. When my current ones do wear out, I will be contacting these folks. I’ve bookmarked them in a folder just for American made stuff.

These folks have lots of American-made clothing. I look forward to picking out some stuff from there soon.

Finally, there’s Peterboro Basket Company. I’ve decided that this year, that’s where most of my Christmas gifts will come from (that I purchase).

So if you know of other places that sell things that are completely, 100%, American-made, feel free to drop them into the comments and I’ll keep the list going!

Value of Life?

So, does life have any value at all today? That’s a completely serious question. And I’m not talking about just individuals, but instead, as an overall value in American society and culture today, does life have ANY value?

Maybe not in Australia, where mom put her kid in a fish bowl. And the mom in that case claims she did nothing wrong. Elsewhere in Australia, children are put out to die in the outdoors. And again, the “parents” claim they did nothing wrong.

But back in America, how about a woman who runs over her husband and leaves him to die. I guess she was mad at him, so therefore he dies. And of course there’s the gang members who shoot innocent people and claim they didn’t do anything. And hey, let’s not forget acid attacks.

I have to believe that these are all extremely rare instances. I have to believe that this is nothing more than the media trying to scare up business and drum up readers. Because if it’s not, then truly as a society, life really has ceased to have any value at all.

Another Court-Ordered Murder: Lauren Marie Richardson

Well, why not? After all, that’s why we have courts, right? To determine when and where to kill people — even if the people don’t want to die, even when the people have done nothing wrong, and even when the people have others willing to care for them. This time it’s Lauren Marie Richardson in Delaware. Her mother wants her dead. No, really. The girl is sitting around, minding her own business. The girl isn’t causing anyone any harm. She just needs a little help eating. Her father is completely willing to feed her. Her mother isn’t. So the mother’s gone to court to withhold food from her. How is that not absolutely disgusting? I thought there was a law against killing innocent people. Apparently I was wrong.

Yes, this is similar to the Terry Schiavo case, but I think it’s much worse. Terry was married and one could question that her parents were more important than her husband. In this case, the girl’s own father is willing to take complete care of the girl. The mother says “no.” And we all know how courts rule when there’s a custody battle. By default, the woman wins. And in this case, the court order has been given: Murder Lauren because her mother says so.

And people claim we’re civilized. If this is civilized, I want to go live in a cave.

The Hatred of McDonald’s

The McDonald’s Corporation has decided they do not like a lot of people. In an absolutely classic example of total doublespeak, their corporate spokesman has said that hatred has no place in our culture; therefore they’re going to support and actively promote organizations that are full of hatred towards the majority of the American country. He goes on to say that they want to support living in a world free of harassment while they give large sums of money to promote campaigns of harassment.

I don’t often get involved with boycotts. Sure, I’ve been boycotting all Chinese-made products for many years. But it seems to me that most organizations, especially large ones like McDonald’s, don’t really care — and they’re not often affected. But this time, I’m going to get involved and hope there’s an effect. You see, the McDonald’s corporation, and all their money, are supporting organizations that want to openly deny me my rights.

And no, I’m not trying to deny others rights — that’s the difference. If you want to be gay, you just go ahead and be gay. I WILL NOT STOP YOU. However, when you try and use the force of government to prevent me from disapproving of your actions, that’s wrong, plain and simple. And the McDonald’s corporation has drawn a line — they think I am full of hatred because I don’t want to approve of people who are gay. Once again, I won’t stop them, I don’t want to force anyone to do anything. And under the current management of McDonald’s, that makes me full of hatred.

Now I’m no big customer of McDonald’s. I used to stop by there about once a week or two for a breakfast sandwich or something. But no longer. I have no desire to give any of my money to a company that says that I’m full of hatred for wanting to be left alone. I hope you good readers will join me. And if you’d like, you can sign the petition, too.

Another Firing For Religion

Once again, we have yet another example in America of someone being fired for the crime of being Christian. Don’t believe the crap about “branding crosses,” that’s just totally made up crap. Look at the picture. You really have to WANT to see a cross to see a cross there. And no one was ever injured. Nope, sorry, they weren’t.

What were the biggest “crimes” committed by this man? Two of them. The first is that he dared science students to question science. That’s heresy to government today. You’re simply not allowed to question ANYTHING that the government or government scientists claim are fact. No, it’s not the middle ages where the church is not allowed to be questioned, it’s America today where the church of science is not allowed to be questioned. That shows you how much science has changed in the years. When I went to school, science was ABOUT asking questions and finding answers. Apparently today it’s about accepting what you are told without question.

The second, and more serious offense this man committed was that he dared own a Bible. And yes, he actually took it into the government house of worship (school) where such things are not allowed. You see, in the government house of worship, you may only worship government and may not question ANYTHING government says or tells you. If you bring any other sort of Christian religious emblem there, you will be removed by force.

Unfortunately, there’s really not any other country where you actually have more freedom of religion. Christians, welcome to the end days where you will be persecuted for your beliefs. It’s in America now, whether you want to admit it or not.

Illegal Religion

Are you aware that there are various countries around the world where you can be arrested simply for mentioning the words, “Jesus Christ?” I was just the other day talking with someone who had just returned from Laos. The government there puts up with people talking about Jesus, but only if it’s done in private. You’re allowed to go to a Christian church, but you are not allowed to invite anyone else to go with you. In fact, if you ask people who attend the church to accept Jesus Christ, “back pockets” will turn you in to the government and you will be jailed.

In China, things have been getting worse as the Olympics approach. The government in cities has started allowing churches to exist. You can have a church, and you can go to that church. But as with Laos, if you invite someone else to come to church with you, or if you attempt to tell someone about Jesus Christ, you will be jailed.

And did you know there’s another country that’s getting worse? Yes, it’s America. Right here in America, more and more, if you dare to mention Jesus Christ in public, you can be jailed. Sure, you’re allowed to go to a church, but if you show up in the wrong place and ask others to come with you, the government throws you in jail. As far as I can tell, the only difference regarding religious freedom in America and Laos is the time you spend in jail.

Unlimited Police Power

So, someone please tell me — is there anything at all that police are not allowed to do? They are apparently allowed to crash their cars and not pay for the destruction. And no, the government, their employer, won’t pay, either. And they’re allowed to break into private property because “it’s an emergency.”

Those unchecked rampaging power-mongers in Iowa are lucky to be alive, if you ask me. If I was in my house, cleaning up after a major flood, knowing there were few residents around; and someone shoved a crowbar in my door and started ripping it open, I’d have a loaded shotgun aimed at them. As soon as they entered my house, I’d pull the trigger in self-defense. And if you think that’s nuts, you should watch the video — these police aren’t asking if someone is home — they are forcibly breaking into houses, through doors and windows, without announcing themselves AT ALL. I am honestly surprised none have been killed — and the homeowners would be absolutely within their rights to defend themselves and their home. The Constitution used to be a check on these gross violations, but it’s clear that document simply does not apply.

Go ahead, tell me that they’re just “doing their job.” Tell me that they’re just “following orders.” Tell me that they’re doing it to “help” people.

Look, they’re committing gross Constitutional violations and many people are defending them. I wonder how many people would have defended Mr. Geiser. After all, Mr. Geiser was just following orders, too. Mr. Geiser was just doing what he was told, and it was for the betterment of society. And now we’re deporting Mr. Geiser for crimes he committed over 50 years ago. Isn’t it interesting that we will punish one set of policemen for criminal actions, but we won’t punish others? And yes, I think those people filmed in that link above should be in jail. It’s not “helpful” to me for you to break my door down and search my house because you want to.

Oh hey, let’s turn to the courts to settle the matter. Oh, right. The courts already have usurped power themselves. Can you name any limit on any branch of government that actually exists today? Go ahead, argue with that policeman about your rights — and you’ll be doing it from a jail cell.

VA Tech Lawsuits

So word is that some of the VT lawsuits have been settled. I’m rather torn on these settlements.

On the one hand, the government and the school are clearly liable. When they passed laws and ruled and ordered that “citizens” who entered the campus were not allowed to defend themselves, the government, at that moment, assumed complete and total responsibility for their safety. True, these people did voluntarily submit to the stripping of their rights (they weren’t forced to go on campus), but as soon as government accepted responsibility for their safety, the government was clearly liable when their safety was lost.

At the same time, the problem is that the people who made those decisions aren’t being held responsible. Instead, *I* am — and YOU are. You see, the people who run the campus, who get to tell others that they’re not allowed to defend themselves don’t care how much they pay out — it’s not their money, it’s yours and my money via taxes. So if the settlement was $11 million or $11 billion, it would have zero effect on the college or the people running it.

In order to truly hold people accountable for their actions, the individuals who passed those laws and took responsibility for the lives of those students should have been held personally responsible and liable. Now THAT would be true justice.

Tom Harkin: No Donations Needed In Iowa

Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa has spoken: No one needs to do anything to help the people affected by this flood — because HE is going to help them, and he is going to help them with as much of your cash as HE wants. Nope, it doesn’t matter if you were going to give more or less, he will determine how much YOU will “donate” to “help” these people. No, it doesn’t matter if you were going to give thousands of dollars to people to help — HE will take thousands of dollars from you, use 70% of it to put in his pocket and other bureaucratic fees, and the people in Iowa will get the rest (he needs their votes, see).

It’s wrong, plain and simple. If we had ANY semblance of freedom in this country, this sort of heavy-handed money-grabbing would not even be considered. Tom Harkin should be jailed for robbery, not rewarded with votes. He has ZERO Constitutional authority to take cash from the people of Maine and give to people HE personally likes in Iowa. That’s WRONG. If we had ANY freedom in this country, we would be free to help these people with our own money! But when government shows up and takes over half of what we earn, we simply cannot afford it. But Tom Harkin DOES NOT CARE. He’s going to spend money YOU earn (and not one dime of his own money, rest assured) to provide “generous federal assistance.”

Tom Harkin, you are a selfish, miserable ass.

Happy Father’s Day

Okay, so I’m a day late. And well, actually this is more directed to those who are fathers but not dads. And it’s directed at those who think they can be mothers without the father. And yes, it’s directed to those who think it’s a good idea that we have state-approved families that don’t include the fathers (that’s gay “marriages”). And this will completely leave out the arguments that you are forcing me to give up my religion when the state “marries” two people — this is based on the facts of what these “families” will do to children.

63% of youth suicides are children who don’t have fathers in their home.

Think about that for a minute. In 1998 there were 2,054 youth suicides. 1,294 of them were kids living without fathers. No, I’m not saying that all 1,294 would have lived if they had fathers in their homes, but what if 600 of them did? What if just one did?

90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.

Wow. 90%. In other words, if there were fathers in the homes, 90% of the children who are homeless would not be homeless. Imagine that — 90% of the homeless children would be taken care of by families. How much better would that be for society — and for those children?

85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home.

Eight-Five percent. In other words, if you want to reduce the prison population DRASTICALLY, all you have to do is put a father in the home of children. And today, behind support of the feminists and the gay movement, we’re doing our best to REMOVE as many fathers from homes as we can. In other words, our social policy is based on INCREASING the prison population. Great job, California.

Female children from fatherless homes are 6.6 times to become teen-aged mothers.

And how productive is that? After the recent fiasco in Texas, we know that there are lots and lots of kids having kids (mostly NOT children of religions like FLDS). And yet we encourage these families to be destroyed. Our society and laws today are built on “empowering” women — to create teen-aged mothers.

80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes.

There you go, feminists. Are you happy? By working hard to create a home where there’s only a mother who can do everything, you are creating rapists. Do you see that number? EIGHTY percent of those rapists! So if we stopped having fatherless homes, rape would DECREASE BY EIGHT PERCENT! Oh, but that wouldn’t be fair if we did that — at least according to those who support gay marriage and other such non-normal families.

The family consists of a father and a mother. Anything else is wrong, no matter what you want to call it, no matter how you want to frame it. And you see, the children KNOW this, even if you tell them otherwise. The children SHOW this, because they, in most cases, react very badly to growing up without a father in the home. 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes. It’s WRONG to live in a home without the father, plain and simple (and of course, I’m not talking about the abusive father, that’s outside of these figures and discussion).

If you are a father and you’re not living with the mother of your children, I implore you now to get up off your rear and go fix it. Nope, I don’t care what the excuse is. If you brought that child into the world, you need to raise them, period. If you’re a mother who isn’t living with that father, but can, you, too, need to get up now and fix it. Make a phone call. Send an e-mail. Heck, write a letter — but fix it now, before it’s too late. You two had to have some feelings for one another at one time, or there wouldn’t BE a child — so get back together now. Your children, and society, will thank you.

Some Religious Abuse Okay

Once again, more proof that justice is no longer blind. You may remember, especially if you’ve read posts here recently, that in Texas, hundreds of people were openly targeted by the Texas government because of their religion. They were illegally detained for months and not one person was punished for attempting to destroy these families in clear and open violation of the law and the Constitution.

Well, now in Virginia, there have been allegations of child abuse. This time, there is actually someone that exists that’s making the claim. So, let’s see… how many people has the government detained? Oh, none. Not one. I wonder why that is. Do you suppose it could have something to do with the religion of the people involved? I bet it does.

You see, in the VA case, the people involved (the accuser, the accused) are all Muslims. If the government were to detain a Muslim for any reason, there would be trouble — there would likely be riots and demonstrations in the street. Government is clear — if you’re Muslim, you are subject to different laws than if you are a member of a religion that the government doesn’t like. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a country where people were free to have any religion they wanted (as long as they didn’t kill other people) — and where government applied laws equally to people of all religions?

NC Senate Considering Allowing Freedom

Yet again, the Democrats in the North Carolina Senate are considering whether to permit the people in the state of North Carolina to have a tiny bit of freedom. If you listen to their speeches and pontifications, they are faced with a rather difficult proposition. You see, the people WANT freedom. Overwhelmingly, the people believe that they should be free to own property. The Democrats in the Senate — who have literally ruled the North Carolina Senate for OVER 100 YEARS — think that they know better, and they don’t need to give people freedom. Instead, the Democrats believe that only the Democrats can determine what property should be used for what purposes at any given time.

You see, the Democrats in the Senate support the Kelo decision that says only government can properly determine the uses of ALL property at all times. The Democrats in the NC Senate have no problem taking land from one person to give to someone else if they, personally, will financially benefit. But at issue is a Constitutional Amendment that would allow individual people to determine the uses and ownership of their own land. It appears that the Democrats in the Senate will not allow that. It appears the Democrats in the NC Senate will retain all power and control over all land in the state — and only they will determine who should properly own all land — no matter who wants to purchase or sell the land.

Then again, that’s consistent with the Democrat platform — Democrats hate personal property rights because if a person has property rights, that’s something the government cannot control.

Friends with Christians? You’re Not Allowed in Government.

Well, not in Michigan, anyway. Especially if the dominant religion in the area is Muslim. Then the Muslims, apparently, gather together to ensure that you’re not allowed to be a government employee. And keep in mind, this has nothing to do with YOUR actual religion, nor even with ANY activity on government grounds. Instead, the only thing Jerry Marszalek apparently did “wrong” was that he was friends with someone who was a Christian — and that is simply not conduct that is allowed by government employees when there are Muslims around.

Wow.

In the case, no one accused Jerry of doing anything wrong. No one said Jerry broke any laws. No one said that Jerry was even a Christian. Instead, one Imad Fadlallah (I wonder what his religion is — it matters) decided to fire Jerry because someone else, somewhere else, baptized a Muslim — and Jerry knew this person. I think that’s what has the Muslim parents so irate — that in this country, according to the laws, people are free to leave the Muslim religion and become Christians. And now that someone has succeeded in converting one of them, head will roll (figuratively now, literally later).

Welcome to non-assimilating Muslims today. Welcome to the religion of “peace” that simply will not allow anyone to be free. Keep in mind, this is the actions of Muslims, not any other religion. And as a matter of fact, this is likely illegal. I hope Jerry brings a civil rights lawsuit against the school and all those Muslim parents are forced to pay a huge settlement — because what they have done is wrong, hurtful, illegal, and incredibly intolerant. So let’s go check on the voices of the left who scream about intolerance all the time:

I see. Let’s head on over to the kings of religious civil rights lawsuits in America, the ACLU:

That’s what I thought. This is a blatant case where a man has been fired for his association with someone else and their religion. Bet you don’t read about that on the nightly news. But if someone had been fired from a government office merely for associating with a Muslim terrorist, you can bet that would be news all over the place.

Anyone know of a place where members of government are free to have a religion and won’t be fired for having the wrong religion? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Christianity Outlawed

I know that there are many who cringe when they hear the words, “War on Christians.” I know many just think it’s silly overreaction. There’s also many who would respond with, “But that’s nothing compared to country XXXX.” With the latter people, I agree. Being a Christian in China or North Korea will get you killed. But I do believe that America is headed down that very same road at breakneck speed. A few of just today’s examples:

If you are a government employees and do no more than posses a Bible while you’re at work, you will be fired. That’s it, nothing more. Oh, he may not have been fired yet, but he told the school he’s not removing HIS personal Bible from the classroom. And despite being a teach for 20 YEARS, he will be fired, no question about it. The school has made it’s position clear: it cannot and will not stand for any signs of Christianity in the halls of the school. Other religions are fine, mind you, just not Christianity.

Elsewhere, a foolish judge has declared that Jesus is unconstitutional. No, really. If a government building DARES to have a photograph of Jesus, it’s going to be removed. If not, someone’s going to jail (gee, sound like North Korea yet). Oh, AND the taxpayer’s going to give cash to the ACLU because the picture was in a government building.

In yet another place, federal judges have decided that if a government employee merely bows his head while others are praying, that’s a jailin’, too. Yes, you read that correctly: if you are a government employee and you bow your head at the wrong time to a Christian prayer (even if you’re not even engaging in prayer yourself) YOU MAY BE JAILED. How’s that for freedom of religion in America today?

And if you refuse to participate in other religious activities that are promoted by the school that are in direct opposition to Christianity, you will also be punished. If you’re a student and refuse to join in open disapproval of Christianity, you will be forced to repeat that grade!

See, the problem here is that government today has not only adopted a religion of their own and are actively promoting (in spite of the Constitution which actually prohibits that activity), but government has also gotten so large and invasive that it’s extremely difficult to find somewhere that government doesn’t control.

As a refresher, from the United States Constitution, which is supposed to be the law of the land:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

I honestly do not understand how any judge can say that bowing your head during prayer is a Congressional law establishing religion. How can a judge claim that the mere presence of a Bible is Congress making a law establishing religion? How is a drawing of Jesus a Congressional law establishing religion? How is refusing to support direct opposition to your own religion NOT prohibiting free exercise of religion?

Any judge who makes these ruling and claims to follow the Constitution is just plain lying. The Constitution is quite clear. And the judges and government agencies making these decisions are in clear, blatant violation of that Constitution, even if they won’t admit it. Oh, how I yearn for freedom. Oh, how I yearn for freedom of religion. I yearn for a government that doesn’t establish their own religion and force others to follow it. I yearn for a government that actually allowed people to freely exercise their religion, instead of being threatened with firings, fines, and jail time simply for the crime of exercising the Christian religion.

Target: Theft, Underage Drinking: Good!

If you need something, head on over to Target and get it. No, don’t pay for it, just help yourself. Target’s policy is now very clear: you may take anything you want because you’re their “guest” when you’re there, and they not only have no problem with you stealing, they will FIRE any of their employees who confronts you — even if you’re a 16-year old girl stealing hard liquor.

And Target is actually defending their actions. Target says that they would prefer this 16-year old girl go home and get drunk on her stolen liquor; rather than her be stopped. Even in today’s world, where the outrageous has become commonplace, this is utterly insane. Attention all 16-year olds: go to Target and steal alcohol because they will not stop you.

It used to be that there was right and wrong in the world. One of the true hallmarks of Western Civilization was it’s strict morals and common ground. And while it’s true that the words “Orwellian newspeak” get overused today, we have reached the point where nothing is truly wrong and words can have any meaning you want them to as you use them.

Can you even imagine the mindset of the Target management that can possibly say, “Gee, you should have let that 16-year old girl get drunk.” What sort of twisted mind has to exist in order to see nothing wrong will allowing a young girl to steal and drink without making any attempt to stop them? Then, to FIRE an employee for stopping the girl is beyond comprehension.

This is quite similar to the recent incident where the government employee got fired for reporting a crime in progress. If your company’s policy is in opposition to common decency, and even common laws that have been around for centuries, you are now required to obey the policy and not the law. How insane has this world become? Admittedly, it’s not all bad, but Target actually believes it’s more important to follow company policy than to stop 16-year old girls from stealing and drinking. Wow.

Is there anything that is actually wrong today? Anything at all?

Boycott Chinese Olympics

Now remember, I’m a HUGE fan of amateur sports. I absolutely LOVE the Olympics. I stay up late at night and get up early in the morning to watch these things when they’re in different time zones. I contribute regularly and in large amounts to help the US Olympic team. But it’s time to say enough is enough.

It’s done.

When an oppressive government is throwing thousands in re-education camps because they want freedom, we cannot support that government. Hundreds are being murdered for disagreeing with the government. And the government is openly saying they will destroy any who disagree with them. Heck, what have times come to when even FRANCE is starting to complain?

No, it’s time. Numerous times in the past centuries, repressive governments have held Olympic games to ensure the world would approve of their government and their actions. It’s time to stop. It’s time the US grew some gonads and stood up to these miserable governments. Instead, of course, the US will strongly support China and ALL it’s internal policies. Good luck, Tibet, with getting anything but words of support from the US.

To stand up and boycott the games would send a STRONG, strong message. It would show the world, once again, the power and might of the US. It would show that the US is more interested in freedom and right than in cash. But I’m not holding my breath. It would take guts to boycott and that’s not going to happen, is it? Money trumps right once again. It looks like France was right — the US isn’t the world leader in anything any more.

Police State, USA

Well it seems the government education system of total acceptance is working well — based on the support of the public for the police state. After all, as one commenter mentions, “those people had it coming to them;” and “he had no right to question the policeman.”

I used to read comments, forums, and other writings about the “police state.” I used to think those people were nuts. After all, I’d learned in government schools that the police were good. We were taught that police were above the law. In fact, police WERE the law. In the courts, a policeman’s word was more important than yours — you were nothing and the police were everything. And besides, “They’re just doing their job.”

I’m sure the officers were “Just doing their job” when handcuffed and arrested a man for speaking out of turn in public. It’s not like he had the right to do that.

I’m sure the officers were just “following orders” when they handcuffed FOUR year olds for “not sleeping.”

Teton County sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Gutierrez was “following orders” when he arrested and jailed a woman for “three half smoked joints” — ensuring 5 days in JAIL and a $410 fine.

And they were “doing their job” when police broke into a home without warning at night, resulting in the death of a policeman and an attempt to have the state kill the man who was defending his home.

They’re not “isolated incidents.” It’s a definite pattern. And don’t tell me, “Oh, it’s just a few bad apples.” No, I’m sorry, it isn’t. It is the mentality that the police are always right, no matter what. And anyone who says different might even be jailed or killed as well. How else do you defend:

In the raid where a citizen mistakenly shot a police officer, the citizen is facing a murder charge; in the raid where a police officer shot a citizen, prosecutors declined to press charges.

And keep in mind — in the first case, the police officer was not innocent and appeared to be committing a crime. In the second case, the citizen was completely innocent, sitting at home, violating no laws.

In America today, the government is above people. We have a police state, even if you listen to your government school training and don’t believe there is. I challenge you to provide me any evidence to the contrary.

After witnessing the philosophizing, postulating, and pontificating of the various conservative speakers (or those to whom I spoke in private conversation), I am left with the very profound and distinct impression that the so-called conservative movement is dead. It is not dying: it is dead. Totally and thoroughly dead.

Quite an interesting read. And I think perhaps, way too accurate. Now I know some people are attempting to start The American Conservative Party. I’m not sure it will work because there’s an awful lot of Republicans who are claiming they’re conservatives — and they’re supporting McCain.

I think a true definition of conservative that’s very simple and clear is: One who believes government is evil.

McCain LOVES government. He honestly believes that government can solve every problem every created — much like Obama and Hillary. If McCain fits today’s PC definition of conservative, then I’m no conservative. But I think this blurring of the meaning of words is quite intentional. You see, if enough people claim that McCain is conservative, then conservatives who believe government is evil might actually vote for him without knowing what he stands for.

So is the conservative movement — where conservative means “small government” — dead? Perhaps. I shall be watching and listening VERY closely at the upcoming NC Conservative Leadership Conference. I will be looking to see what this conference’s definition of “conservative” is. It shall be very telling to see if there is massive, overwhelming support for McCain…stay tuned, for I shall live blog that event soon!

Rights In America

So, do you have any rights in America? No, really, do you? What rights do you think you have?

I think the courts are currently working hard to ensure that you don’t really have any rights, even if you think you do. Just take a look at a couple recent quotes from our black-robed rulers:

voters in Oregon have no legal right to have their petition signatures counted

Wouldn’t it be neat if we had the right “petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” I think that would be a key right in a free country. But this judge clearly has outlined that if you have a problem with government, you are to shut up. Government not only doesn’t have to listen to you, you don’t even have the right to talk to them. Be careful what you say to elected officials these days — because you don’t have the right to complain to them, according to this judge.

parents do not have a constitutional right to homeschool their children.

I wish there were a law that would prevent government from “prohibiting the free exercise” of religion. I’d love to have the “right of the people peaceably to assemble.” I think it would be really cool if I had “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.” But judges are pretty consistent these days — you have zero rights related to children. After all, It’s For The Children ™.

Government has decided what religion they will support and you are no longer allowed to teach your children another. Oh sure, YOU can have a different religion, but if you attempt to teach that to your children, you will be jailed. It’s For The Children ™.

Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
