Hillary’s Pain

Oh, I’m not touching this one…

Obama Economy

Because Obama doesn’t have any ideas himself, he has to get them from somewhere. I’ve already heard the silly canard floated a few times, “Are you better off now than you were eight years ago?” Of course, in a free country, as outlined in the United States Constitution, the government isn’t responsible for how well off I, or anyone else, is.

Edwards’ Forgiveness

So, have you heard about John Edwards running around asking people to forgive him? Apparently he’s calling, over and over again, people who worked for him and he’s asking them to forgive him. And from what I read, he’s getting a very hostile response.

That’s incredibly sad.

Do I forgive John Edwards? Well, he hasn’t called me (nor have I worked for him). If he calls me, would I? In a heartbeat. Seriously. I think that John Edwards finally gets it. Now I could be wrong — he could be doing all this just to try and place himself in a position to take power and run for election again. But that’s not for me to decide and determine. If John Edwards is serious about honestly asking for forgiveness, I think everyone should forgive him, without a doubt. I think this incident says more about John Edwards’ supporters than about him.

Stimulus: Republican vs. Democrat

The “big” news is that the Democrats want to pass a new stimulus plan. Now I’m no longer a fan of the big-government Republican party, but some times they are actually different from the Democrats (not often). In this case, the difference is rather extreme:

Republican Stimulus: Give people some of their own money.

Democrat Stimulus: Let government spend more of the people’s money.

Then again, you can consider what would happen if people like Ron Paul, Libertarians, or the Constitution Party were running the place:

Stimulus: Government stop collecting and spending money that’s not theirs.

US Economy vs. Democrats

So let’s see… the US Treasury secretary says that things are bad — and they’re going to stay bad. Now this is someone who should know what they’re talking about. He says that the banking system is fine, but

The three big issues we’re facing right now are, first, the housing correction which is at the heart of the slowdown; secondly, turmoil of the capital markets; and thirdly, the high oil prices, which are going to prolong the slowdown

While the banking system is fine, banks are failing. Listen to my words, not reality. War is Peace. I understand.

So what is our ever-faithful Democrat-led Congress doing about these three big issues? They’re working hard to stop people from getting mortgages by crushing freedom. They’re working to pass laws to make it even harder for people to get loans, and make it easier to throw people in jail for lending money. So their solution to the housing correction is to make LESS people buy houses. Great.

The capital markets are in turmoil. What are the Democrat plans there? Spend trillions on government programs. And yes, capital gains taxes will have to be increased in order to pay for such employment programs. They are working to raise taxes to ensure that there will be less invested in companies so the capital markets will get worse.

How about oil prices? Oh right, Democrats are stopping drilling to ensure oil prices stay high, and they’re actually going to RAISE gas taxes to make sure gasoline stays affordable only for the “rich.”

So there you have it — Democrats in Congress are working hard, doing everything they possibly can to actually make the economy WORSE than it already is. No, seriously. Why? Because they believe that the worse the economy is, the better chances they have in the fall elections. Sorry, but that’s how politicians operate today. They want to get elected and will quite literally do anything they can, no matter the consequences, if they can just get re-elected and get more power.

What’s the solution? Vote them all out. Vote for a Libertarian. Vote for a non-politician. Don’t vote for lawyers. And yes, I’m aware that many people don’t have that option at all. In that case, just keep your ammo dry (while it’s still legal to own ammo) and wait until the people finally have had enough.

Congressional Approvals

I’m sure many of you fine readers have heard about the record low Congressional approval numbers. I mean, nine percent? Over 90% of people think you’re a failure at your job? Knowing that in large groups, you will always have “that 10%,” this is almost a complete and total rejection of the entire US Congress. That really is news. I wonder how those people can do their jobs, knowing that almost no one thinks they’re doing it right. Oh wait, I remember — because they honestly don’t care (most of them). They’re the elite and they know better than you what’s good for you. If you don’t think they’re doing their job right, it’s not because they’re not, it’s because you don’t understand their job.

What a load.

What’s even more interesting is the fact that of the same 90% who think that Congress is completely worthless at the moment, the majority of people say they’ll vote to re-elect their Congressman. I guess if Congress is truly dysfunctional (and it is), does this mean that the people they’re electing are even MORE dysfunctional? It sure does give a new meaning to “throwing away your vote.” This poll, if even slightly accurate, says that the VAST majority of Americans are going to vote to re-elect someone they think is completely and utterly incompetent. How can that be?

I suggest it’s because so few people have a choice. I know in North Carolina, and I’m sure many other places, there’s simply no competition. In the two-party system, you pick one of the following one candidates. Either that or your district is drawn to include 70% one party, so the other party candidate doesn’t have a chance, anyway.

I’d like to suggest that there’s other options. In North Carolina, for the first time in years, you actually have a choice. The North Carolina Libertarian Party has actually been permitted to be on the ballot. No, the Democrats and Republicans don’t like it, but they were forced to allow it. If you’re in North Carolina, go take a look — the Libertarian Party has almost 40 candidate running for various offices statewide. I’m not asking you to agree with the entire party platform — do you agree with ANY party platform 100%? I just think votes for Libertarians really can send a message to the Congress that we really, really don’t like what they’re doing.

Libertarians in North Carolina

Hey, did you know that Libertarians are allowed to run for election in North Carolina again? Yes, despite some of the most difficult ballot access laws in the country, they’re permitted again to run. And that’s despite a superior court judge who actually said, “there is no fundamental right for a voter to vote for the party of their choice.”

And yes, of course, libertarians candidates will be excluded from the election process as much as possible by the media, the Democrats, and the Republicans. But it sure is refreshing to see that in some elections people will actually have a choice. Keep in mind, this is the same North Carolina where as many as 80% or more of the state legislature only changes hands when those in power want them to (there’s zero competition).

So this year, why not join ‘em? If you live in an uncontested district, get your name on the ballot. It’s not too expensive and people will actually have a choice. You know, I think I’ll see if they want me on the ballot — I know in my districts, there’s zero opposition for either the state house or the state senate…

Tom Harkin: No Donations Needed In Iowa

Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa has spoken: No one needs to do anything to help the people affected by this flood — because HE is going to help them, and he is going to help them with as much of your cash as HE wants. Nope, it doesn’t matter if you were going to give more or less, he will determine how much YOU will “donate” to “help” these people. No, it doesn’t matter if you were going to give thousands of dollars to people to help — HE will take thousands of dollars from you, use 70% of it to put in his pocket and other bureaucratic fees, and the people in Iowa will get the rest (he needs their votes, see).

It’s wrong, plain and simple. If we had ANY semblance of freedom in this country, this sort of heavy-handed money-grabbing would not even be considered. Tom Harkin should be jailed for robbery, not rewarded with votes. He has ZERO Constitutional authority to take cash from the people of Maine and give to people HE personally likes in Iowa. That’s WRONG. If we had ANY freedom in this country, we would be free to help these people with our own money! But when government shows up and takes over half of what we earn, we simply cannot afford it. But Tom Harkin DOES NOT CARE. He’s going to spend money YOU earn (and not one dime of his own money, rest assured) to provide “generous federal assistance.”

Tom Harkin, you are a selfish, miserable ass.

Obama On History

I’m sure by now that you’ve read the latest “breaking news” from Obama: that the only reason Osama Bin Laden is “free” is George Bush and the Republicans. I guess Barry Hussein was too young to know what was going on in 1996 when Bill Clinton was offered bin Laden’s head on a platter, but he refused.

But get used to it — this is what an Obama presidency will look like: total lies and fabrication, attacking anyone he doesn’t like.

Democrats Vote to Raise Gas Prices

House Democrats continue to openly support high gas prices. Realize this — Democrats in Washington honestly WANT high gas prices. They are actively working and fighting TO KEEP PRICES HIGH. If they claim to be trying to lower prices, they are just plain out lying. And yes, this is a political move, partially calculated to get Obama elected. You see, if the Democrats can claim that the economy is bad, they think it will help Obama — because the media won’t report on the fact that the Democrats in Congress are MORE responsible for the economy than the president ever will be.

In general, gas prices respond to laws of economics (despite what lying Democrats claim). In most economies, most of the time, if you want to lower prices, you either reduce costs in making the item, you decrease the demand, or you increase the supply. In a free society, changing the demand is wrong. In order to change the demand, you MUST take away freedom. This is the route the Democrats prefer.

However, if you want a market-based, freedom way to change prices, you need to either reduce costs or increase supply. Last week the Democrats in the US Senate tried hard to INCREASE the cost of making gasoline. Doing so will have only one, absolutely predictable result: higher prices. They failed in their attempts to massive increase prices. This week, Democrats in the House took their shot at raising prices. The Democrats voted to keep supplies as low as possible, to ensure that prices do not fall.

Keep this in mind when talking to your Democrat pals. The Democrats are literally doing everything in their power to KEEP GAS PRICES HIGH and fighting ANY effort to reduce gas prices. Seriously. When any Democrat claims otherwise, they are just lying. Why would they do this? For political gains — nothing else matters to them. Yes, this is how low politics have fallen. Democrats want to win at quite literally any cost.

Senate Democrats Demand Higher Gas Prices

Hard-working Senate Democrats are trying to pass a law to increase gas prices! Yes, with the news this past weekend that gas prices have gone over $4 a gallon, the only solution Democrats and Obama can propose are HIGHER prices. Oh, but they won’t actually admit that. Instead, they are claiming that they want to punish working people — the evil gas companies. And yes, I’m quite sure that some Democrats actually know that such an act would have no effect other than to raise the prices of gasoline.

Some of those Democrats are actually happy to raise the prices of gasoline. You see, if they can make it harder for you to earn enough money to live, you can be more dependent on them — which they honestly want. Remember, these people measure success by how many people cannot provide for themselves — the more people getting government aid, the more successful these people are. The live for power and control.

Other Democrats, like Obama, I suspect really believe that if they order the price of something to be what they want, that the laws of economics will obey them — they have that much hubris. They honestly believe that they are the most powerful force in the universe and all should bow down and obey them. Anyone or anything that doesn’t will answer to the force of government bureaucrats.

Still other Democrats, I’m sure, are just supporting this to be mean and make people feel good. These Democrats want to punish those who succeed, because then those who are lazy bums will feel better — and continue to vote for Democrats. These are the saddest group of Democrats, because they measure their happiness by the amount of misery they can cause others.

But notice in all cases — the Democrats continue to refuse to deal with reality. It appears, at least for now, there’s enough Republicans left in the Senate to realize that this action will do nothing but RAISE gas prices, so they’re opposing it. But don’t worry — it appears that after the election this fall there will be enough Democrats in Washington to ensure the price of a gallon of gasoline reaches $10. Anybody want to bet?

How Liberal is Joe Biden?

I mentioned last week how Senator Biden is working very hard to absolutely destroy families and severely punish fathers at all costs. Jack Stone stopped by and provided a nice link to The Joe Biden Quiz. Joe Biden’s WAR on Fathers

Go read about it. It’s not just a little. It’s not just words that don’t have meanings. Joe Biden is seriously working very hard to spend enormous piles of taxpayer cash to absolutely CRUSH and destroy fathers in America. Does he hate fathers? I think he honestly doesn’t care. I think Biden is interested in buying anyone he can with taxpayer cash and he seriously doesn’t care who gets hurt or killed in the process. And just before Father’s Day this year, Biden is hoping to get his bill passed. What a horrible, horrible person.

Ken Sherman, 40th Assembly District, California

From Kender:

Ken Sherman is a piano teacher, which while being a noble and decent profession, in no way qualifies him for a political office.

You can see the first post I did on Sherman here. I explain in that post why he shouldn’t even be consider by anyone that considers themselves a conservative, but I want to recap that and tell you why I am posting about this again.

Ken Sherman has posted (and taken down when it was pointed out what he did) anti-semitic videos on his only website, a myspace page. Any candidate for an office higher than Student Council at a high school should have an actual website. I have no idea if Ken is running a campaign on the cheap, he doesn’t know any better or he is simply thinking that only a myspace page is good enough, because Ken won’t return calls.

Ken has also promoted events sponsored by Move On Dot Org, an extremely far left group. The event he promoted on his myspace page was a candle light vigil against the war, which by default means he is against the troops.

Ken’s campaign manager has posted lies about Ken’s opponent, Armineh Chelebian, while at the same time failing to divulge his position in the campaign. While it may not be illegal to post comments without divulging your position in a campaign, it is extremely unethical to do so, especially when you are posting comments in favor of your employer and posting lies about your employers opponent.

Theer has been some speculation amongst some activists here that Ken Sherman is a mole from the Democrat party, and is only running to secure the nomination so he can drop out and leave the seat uncontested for the Democrats. If Ken Sherman does win next Tuesday, and drops out of the race I’d like to see the Attorney General of California open an investigation into Ken’s finances and those close to him. I’d be willing to bet that if he is a mole, he has a handshake deal with the Dems to get paid for securing the seat for them. But that’s just a theory of mine.

I tried several times to speak with Ken, and after reaching him on his cell he said he’d call me later. His steadfast refusal to get together for a one on one so he could present his side of the issues is proof positive to me that he is hoping to ride this out until Tuesday.

So spread the word. Don’t vote for Ken Sherman if you live in the 40th district in California. If you do and by some stretch of the imagination he wins you will be getting what you voted for. An unresponsive person of questionable character.

*DISCLAIMER; These are my thoughts only. I am not connected in any official capacity with any campaign for any office.

Food Prices

I’m sure by now everyone who doesn’t live under a rock is well aware of the inflationary prices going on around the world, particularly in the food area. While the UN whines for more cash (from America) and France screams for protectionism to “protect” their food supplies, retailers are having trouble, too.

But get ready, it’s going to get a lot worse in June. Why June? Did you forget what the Democrats in Congress passed? June will see an 85-cent increase in minimum wage. Do you even grasp the effect that will have on the entire food industry, from produce to restaurants? That’s a GIANT increase in the price of getting that food to you — and I’ve not heard a word about it. But you can rest assured, when that increase goes into effect, food prices WILL rise substantially, both prepared food and produce. Did you think the stockboys putting the lettuce on the shelf were making a lot of money? Well, they’re going to make more — which means it’s going to cost you more.

So once again, nearly every part of this recent problem with food is due to the government interfering with freedom. It doesn’t surprise me, but I am surprised by how many don’t understand that government is the PROBLEM and not the solution.
