Ogre’s Politics and Views

So, have you heard the story about the military base that has declared that it’s wrong, bad, evil, and you will be fined and jailed if you say bad things about terrorists? I really wish I were making this up. Unfortunately, I’m not. It’s reality. On Camp Lejune Marine Corps base (I am VERY much embarrassed by this — I could understand if this happened on an Air Force base, but at Camp Lejune?) it is now illegal to say anything bad about terrorists — even if they are convicted terrorists who have killed your own children.

How sad is this? Seriously. Imagine that your son was killed by an Islamic Terrorist. Then you decide to say, “I think Islamic Terrorists are bad.” If you do this at Camp Lejune, you might go to jail. That’s beyond disgusting. The “officers” that have declared this should be removed from the military and court-martialed for treason. If that’s not aiding the enemy, I don’t know what is.

But this is PC-America where the #1 worst offense anyone can commit is to say something that is offensive to anyone — even cold blooded religious murderers. Freedom of speech? Yeah, that’s gone and is likely never to return. Anyone want to place odds until the time that the words I write here are illegal?

So, have you seen the recent news regarding the new cold war with Russia? Vladamir Putin is threatening to point missiles at American bases in Europe.

On it’s face, it seems rather silly. The US is saying that they want to put up a missile defense shield — in response Russia says that if the US puts up a shield, Russia will point missiles at the shield… think about it…

In reality, it’s more simple than that. Russia currently does not trust the US and the words that come out of the US state department (you’d be crazy if you did). So Russia is reacting to the American presence in Poland and the Czech Republic. In other words, this is ONLY happening because the US is building up our military presence in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Go ahead, claim it’s because of Iran, or North Korea, or something else. Blame ANYONE but the US. But the basic fact of the matter is that this is ONLY happening because of the US military presence.

Want to stop it? We can. Elect Ron Paul. Seriously. He will REDUCE the US presence in Europe! He will show the Russians that we’re not any threat to them (as long as they’re not a threat to us). It’s not surrender, it’s leaving countries alone!

Or we can elect any of the other Republican candidates — every last one of which will continue and expand the US military presence there — making more and more enemies with countries like Russia.

Move America Foward is planning a cross country tour of America starting today in Santa Nella, CA. They’re crossing the country holding pro-troop rallies all across the south (sorry northerners).

If they’re stopping by near you, why not stop by and say hello. This is not a political event — they’re trying to collect 100,000 “Christmas, Hanukkah and holiday greeting cards for our troops that we will deliver to them in Iraq and Afghanistan.” Supporting this event doesn’t mean you support the war, this is truly just about supporting the troops.
