Ogre’s Politics and Views

Here’s a bit for those who are bored with the news and want some mindless entertainment — a couple browser-based games.

This one is Renaissance Kingdoms. It’s a game where you start in a town as a peon and attempt to work your way up in the world. It’s set (obviously) in the middle ages. You can become a carpenter, farmer, or even a politician. I’m currently doing rather well, growing wheat, making flour at my mill, and I’ve been elected to my county’s council. It’s a relatively slow-paced game, however. You long in once or twice a day and can take care of all your business. It’s still fun, if you ask me. Oh, and you can spend hours in the forums doing role-play if you like, too:

This next one I’ve just started recently (I’ve been stopping by daily for over a year on the above game). This one is really interesting because it’s about transportation! You are the owner of a transportation company and you ship goods all around to make a profit. It’s tons of fun, and you can spend a little time each day, or a bit more time each day, depending on what you like. It’s called Transporter Tycoon:
