Romney Voting: Corruption and Threats?
So, did you see the results of the recent Florida Republican Straw Poll? Romney apparently bought his win. Oh, and the machines. Check out the report and video here. It’s just astounding. Republican Party chairmen allegedly threatening Ron Paul supporters with BODILY HARM if they reveal the corruption. What corruption? How about Romney supporters voting hundreds of times and Paul supporters voting once. How about election machines where you pick Ron Paul but the confirmation page says “Mitt Romney?” Indeed, politics is filthy and perhaps this is the only way Romney can beat Paul — but this is just disgusting.

I think one can safely use the words “corruption” and “politics” in the same sentence. The biggest reason why an honest man doesn’t stand a chance running for office is the fact that honest men don’t have the cash flow that corrupt men do. We all know that money talks in politics and you can’t get elected without a lot of it, thus you have men selling their souls to get in Congress or the White House. It is a fact of life, most men get wealthy because they are willing to do things that are either morally wrong or outright illegal. (Note: I say most, not all). It only stands to reason that corrupt men will be willing to kick out the cash to own a politician. Honest men don’t need laws or to own a politician because they have the support of the people and communities that their abundance has helped.
The other reason an honest man doesn’t stand much of a chance… the corruption of the Machine and the people that run it. If an honest man traverses the money issue, then he still must get past the “Big Man wannabes” that run the polls, and precincts or the “Good Ole Boy Networks”.
There are some days I just don’t want to deal with it and wish Jesus would just come back and let’s all live in his Peace and Freedom. But, we must move on and do our best in his name whatever happens….
As for Ron Paul, the only thing holding me back… his stance on cutting and running in Iraq. I believe he is right on that our foreign policy is responsible for the terror attacks and trouble leading up to 9/11 and on. But during the Viet Nam War, we allowed ourselves (the American public) to be swayed by our enemies to withdrawl and it was a shame what happened to the South Vietnamese afterward. I don’t want to see anything like that happen again. Regardless of wheither or not we “should be there”, we are, and I would like to see a more “honorable withdrawl” where the people of Iraq stand a chance of having peace. Those who have sacrificed and died should not have done so in vain. I do like Dr. Paul, and I think he could well be the most honest man to ever enter the White House, but this one issue is important to me. I have stood in honor of fallen heros from Iraq and Afghanistan, I am a Blue Star Mom myself, and I just hate the idea of anyone’s son or daughter dying in vain.
Sorry, didn’t mean to go on a rampage here. If you know of anywhere where Ron Paul has addressed my concerns, please let me know, and thanks.
I don’t think getting out of Iraq would be dishonorable. I think it was right to go into Iraq. I think we did good in getting rid of Saddam. But I think we’re done now, and it’s time to let the people of Iraq have their country back.
Did you know we’re planning on building an air base there? And leaving troops there forever? And taking part of their oil reserves to help pay for such things?
I don’t think anyone’s died in vain. I think we did the job, now let’s go home. No other candidate (except Kucinich) actually wants to remove troops from there. Why can’t the Iraqi people take care of themselves now? We’ve removed the dictator, what will happen when we leave? When we left Vietnam, the North was still there, the enemy hadn’t been beaten. In this case, the enemy is gone, so I think it’s time for us to go. Leaving now would be leaving with honor.
When the job is done, I don’t think that’s cutting and running. I think that’s coming home victorious.
Well, given the fact the surge has worked and done what Petraeus wanted, I think you are probably right on much of that. But they need to see to it the outsiders who were terrorizing civilians cannot return. I say within a few months they can take over and secure their own borders and it will all be good.
And Noooo, I didn’t know they were planning an Airbase there and using Iraqi oil reserves… THAT doesn’t make me happy at all!!! The world needs to see that we went in, ended an evil dictatorship, secured the country for the people and then LEFT. That would be honorable and tell the world that we are “good world citizens”. But I do have Vietnamese friends who lost family and loved ones when the North “took over” after we pulled out. I wish that page of history could be rewritten. The North Vietnamese were evil, but that is another area where over time history tells us more and more. I just hate the idea of our being manipulated by “outside forces” which I think is happening now with the liberal push to head toward socialism. JMHO.
OK, you have pretty much addressed my reservations about Dr. Paul. Thanks Ogre.
Well of course if Paul wins, he won’t be president until 2009, so surely that’s enough time to finish over there. And if Iraq was in trouble and asked for help, he’s not opposed to helping them, too. But he just wants us to stop deploying our military all over the world as the world’s police force — especially under UN control!
Yes, Vietnam was a mess. But I think there’s almost no parallels between the end of that nightmare and this one.
What you say makes sense to me in light of what progress has been made so far. And if Ron Paul could just boot the UN out of this country and pull us out entirely, he would be my hero for sure! I told you that I took the “Are you a Libertarian” test online a few years ago didn’t I??? That’s when I still thought I was a Democrat but feeling uncomfortable about the Clinton’s. I came up 97% Libertarian in my core beliefs. LOL!!! I was born to be one I think.
97%? Wow! And I think Paul’s going about this right, trying to reclaim the Republican Party. But I think the Republican Party, as can be illustrated in this post, really isn’t all that interested in freedom and liberty any more — at least not the leadership right now.
But I don’t think the Libertarian Party is going to ever get anywhere because they’ve been demonized by their stance on drugs. And no other party has appeared that has gotten any traction at all (yet).
Hummmm… The Freedom Party???? :-B
Well I personally like the Constitution Party, but they’re rather small and unorganized so far.
