Congress Robin Hayes on His Job
I like Congressman Hayes. I’ve supported him tremendously in the past. He’s a Republican from North Carolina district 8. I usually support him because he’s absolutely steadfast on the second amendment. But he’s now yet another example of the Republican Party that’s leaving those of us who like freedom. I got an email from him where he outlined what he views his job as a Congressman is:
Expanding opportunities for our workers is a constant priority. Protecting the jobs we have and bringing new opportunities are part of our two-pronged strategy. As hard as we fight, unfortunately job loss does occur. When that happens, our goal is to get our workers successfully back in the workforce.
Um, what? Apparently in his view, and that of most of the elected people in Congress today, unfortunately, is that it IS their job to make jobs for other people. That’s just plain wrong.
Keep in mind — the ONLY way government can make or do anything is for them to take from someone else first. The only way they can create jobs is by taking money from other people. And yes, in this case, Congressman Hayes supported increasing funding for the make-jobs program to the tune of $440 million. He supports using government force to TAKE $440 million from people who work and earn it just to create jobs for other people who aren’t working (and may not even WANT to be working).
That’s communism, plain and simple. It’s destructive and evil. And it’s inherently anti-freedom. In his bill, he would have given the unemployed one-hundred and four weeks of cash. Yes, he would have paid people for TWO YEARS for NOT working. And yes, he would take the money from people who worked. I honestly cannot understand how people can continue to defend that idea.
Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
