On The Mortgage and Banking Crisis
So, have you been reading all the news about the current economic crisis in America? Have you, personally, lost millions of dollars in recent days? Or are you satisfied that you’re fine, you just head to work and get paid, and go buy your groceries, wondering what this is all about? Perhaps you’re thinking that this won’t effect you because you don’t have money invested in the stock market in the financial sector. Or do you? Do you really know where all your company’s retirement plans are invested? Do you know where all your mutual fund investments are stored? Let’s say you do, and you’re still not in those funds. So none of this will effect you, right? Certainly it shouldn’t, but it appears more and more that it will.
You see, our government has completely and totally lost track of the Constitution. Those elected officials in Washington, DC are prepared to completely violate their words and their solemn oath. All the Congressmen in office now swore:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God
But that was all just talk. All the actions they are considering this week are absolutely, unquestionably, in direct opposition to that statement.
Lawmakers (who made that oath) this week are considering taking large amounts of cash from working people. They’re going to take that cash and give it to other people that they like who don’t have “enough” money. I challenge anyone to find anything in the Constitution that remotely even suggests that Congress has the power to redistribute wealth because they want to. It’s not there, and it’s never been there. Just ask James Madison, who was around when the Constitution was written and this government was established:
“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”
But even that’s not enough for these liars and dishonest power-mongers in Washington. They also want to reduce freedom. These government members want to take away your freedom (or kill you if you resist) if you make an agreement of your own free will that they don’t like. No, I’m not making that up. If I want to lend you money to buy a house and I don’t force you to prove to me that you’re employed, this Congress wants to throw me in jail. Yes, seriously. Go ahead, find that one in The Constitution. Oh, but the current Congress seems to think they have that power.
Oh, but you see, they’re just trying to make people feel better. After all, it’s for the children. Parents have now taught their children in many cases that it’s simply not their own fault they took out loans they could not afford and therefore, government is obligated to steal from working people to give cash to others. If there were one Congressman with real guts, just one who took his oath of office seriously, he’d tell these lazy money-grabbing selfish bums to shut up and work. If there were a Congressman who actually believed in the Constitution, he’d tell people that robbery and theft was WRONG, even if some people felt bad about it.
Of course, we’re now told by the president and his pals that there’s nothing wrong. Everything is safe and normal. There’s nothing to see here. “No one” has ever lost money in a bank. Of course, they forget to mention that’s because the government took someone else’s money to ensure the loss didn’t happen.
Instead, the government will do what’s best in government’s mind: take from producers and give to non-producers. Do you realize that Fannie and Freddie ARE bankrupt? It’s quite simply, really. They owe more than they have. If all their creditors said, “okay, pay me,” they could not do it. They do not have the cash to do so. And since they don’t, government will save them — with YOUR money.
Now while it’s claimed that there is opposition to the bailout plans, realize that’s only in the details — in other words, which politicians get to claim credit and a portion of the cash used for the bailout — not for the bailout itself. And yes, it IS a bailout, no matter how many times the politicians claim it’s not. When a company doesn’t have enough money to pay it’s bills and government gives them cash (that they took from taxpayers), by definition, that’s a bailout, plain and simple. Anyone who denies that is just out-and-out lying — and it’s highly likely they know it.
But as long as government takes more freedom, then everyone will be okay — according to the politicians. Will things get worse? Maybe. Should they? Absolutely. If there were even a semblance of freedom today, if just a few Congressmen actually believed in the Constitution, those companies would fold — and other would appear! Yes, people would be FREE to actually borrow and lend money to help one another! I know, it’s a radical idea — and one STRONGLY opposed by Congress.
The US Government wants socialism. They want power and control above all. This manufactured “crisis” is just an excuse they’re using to increase socialism in direct opposition to the Constitution. As this progresses, you can be sure that what you are witnessing is the direct socialization of the mortgage and banking business in America. It’s anti-freedom and blatantly unconstitutional. But that’s what the government wants, and they honestly don’t care about anything else.
Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
