Don Mattingly

I like Don Mattingly.

He was a big hero of mine while he played for the Yankees. I honestly hope he gets into the Baseball Hall of Fame. I just visited there, Cooperstown, and it was incredible. It really is beyond words. Click the image above to see a web site dedicated to getting him elected.

  1. Mattingly was one of the very best Yankees never to play on a World Series winner. Yet his professionalism and his career of high performance are up there with the very best. I miss him.

  2. You certainly got that right. He was a true professional. I liked seeing him managing for the Yankees. I am disappointed I don’t get to see him as “special assignments coach” for the Dodgers. I still bet he comes back as manager for the Yankees eventually.

  3. No arguments on Don.

Another that should already be there is Ron Santo.

  4. I can’t argue that one with you.

I tell you though, after just coming from Coopertown, it’s amazing to think of the vast number of baseball players who aren’t there. There’s not that many who are in that hall.
