President Obama

I hate to say it, but I’m pretty sure that Harvey is right. Obama is likely going to be the next president. It’s not because he agrees with the positions of Americans. It’s not because he’s right on any issue. It’s because he’s more plastic than McCain. Like Bill Clinton, he can tap into people’s emotions easily — and facts, rights, and right and wrong simply cannot compete. And it really doesn’t matter who he picks for VP. He will simply look and sound slicker, and then he’ll win. As for me? I’m still hoping for a miracle.

  1. President Barrack Obama — say it ten times a day and you will feel better.

What I pray for: That it will be 1929 all over again in 2009, but only ten times worse — and we can blame President Obama like folks blamed President Hoover. I can’t wait for the economic refugee camps around the major capitals — Obamavilles!!!

  2. I can certainly see that happening. Just wait until Obama and his Democrat pals get the prices of gasoline up to $10 a gallon. When they run out of working people to pay for their programs because no one can afford to get to work, then the real economic crisis will hit.

  3. Hey Ogre - your counter-part over at Cary Politics posted this today. It’s a keeper:

“”It ended as soon as Dems starting covering the poor for their bad decisions while the Republicans continued covering the rich for their bad decisions. Now the two parties are trying to decide who will attempt to cover the middle class for their bad decisions. Erstwhile, the warm, soft - smothering - blanket of big government continues to grow.

Liberal judges and the trial lawyers that support them with their “everyone is a victim” (because they make lots of money that way) attitude have certainly contributed to the problem.” - Don Hyatt, Cary Politics Blog

  4. Sounds pretty good — government makes bad decisions, then makes worse decisions to attempt to “fix” the bad decisions…

  5. Jimmy Carter all over again………I predict Obama will get about a one year honeymoon, where the left will be so infatuated that they will see nothing that can go wrong….followed by three years (if he makes it that long) of total hell on Earth, where he (and us) will be wishing he’d never heard of the Presidency…. As year two begins, the real depth and gravity of the situation will begin to set in. Buyers remorse is going to be a terrrible thing to behold.

  6. I have started to see that more and more: Carter version 2.0

It is going to be ugly — very ugly. But I don’t think he will care — I think he’ll just need “a little more” sacrifice, money, etc. That will be his re-election campaign slogan: “Just a little more”
