The Democrat-controlled NC House has passed a budget. Ready? Yup, it’s Democrats, so hold onto your wallet. And remember, this budget has been “cut to the bone.” This is a budget that Democrat governor Easley doesn’t like because it doesn’t spend enough. And this is government spending while the average citizen is struggling through very difficult economic times and prices increases. Yes, this is what Democrats do for government while the citizen is cutting back to make ends meet.

Spending increase of 2.48 billion dollars. Yes, that’s over 2 billion in spending increases by government. How much did you increase your spending this year? Unless you just got a new, high-paying job, I bet your spending didn’t increase by 13.2%. North Carolina government did. So, where do you suppose they’re going to get that additional $2.48 billion? You better start working harder because government can’t create anything — they can only take money from those who work, earn, and create wealth.

Oh, but the Democrats and their media allies are running around claiming they didn’t increase taxes. Seriously, I have yet to see any typical media report mention one word about the budget without screaming “without a tax increase.” Folks, how are they getting the money? They’re taking it from working people, plain and simple. THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO GET THE MONEY. However, their smoke and mirrors game does show where some has come from. Pay attention now, Democrat voters:

They’re taking the money from road funding. Road funding is decreasing by over $60 million. So, when you hear the Democrat claiming they’re “working hard” to fund roads, they are outright lying, plain and simple. North Carolina Democrats DO NOT WANT to build roads, and they WILL NOT BUILD ROADS. If they say anything to the contrary, call them liars, because that’s what they are.

Where else is the money coming from? Oh, they’re not raising taxes, they’re going to borrow a half billion dollars. That’s “Free” money in the minds of Democrats — because they can borrow all they like and then later raise taxes to pay for debt service — which they’ll be “forced” to do. Remember a few years back when the Democrats screamed they had to have tax increases to “protect” the state’s bond rating? You can expect that argument to show up next year — ONLY because they borrowed the money this year (election year) to buy vote and spend more.

But wait, there’s more!

Remember the “rainy day” fund and “disaster” funds? Yeah, those are being raided for spending money. Next hurricane, get ready for a tax increase to “save” the “rainy day fund.” Remember the massive, horrible “golden leaf” fund? That’s the one that taxpayers paid into for “smoker health care?” Yup, raided that and threw the money into the general fund.

And don’t worry, they also raised all sorts of “fees” to ensure that lots of people have to pay more for, well, everything, so the Democrats have money to spend. Keep voting Democrat, North Carolina — as long as you want to support blatant liars and complete and total fiscal irresponsibility. Prices and costs of everything will continue to increase as long as Democrats are in charge.
