Bathroom Seat: $2 million?

I’m sure by now you’ve heard the story about the fellow who was forced to sit in a bathroom for a few hours. Did you know that if you are forced into a bathroom that you deserve $2 million? Well that’s what Gokhan Mutlu and his bottom-feedling, ambulance-chasing, slime-ball lawyer claims.

I just wonder how anyone can possibly argue that this is anything other than legal extortion. What sort of person is this Gokhan Mutlu? Does he really think it’s good to punish an airline for this? Is he a simple person who’s being exploited by a greedy bastard lawyer? Certainly he is not a sane, rational person. Imagine what you would do, faced with the same situation. I’d laugh. I would have a blast. I might poop for 2 hours — or at least tell people I did. He claims he was “disgraced?” Why, does he not normally USE a bathroom? Sure, I might have been bored for 3 hours, but personally, I probably would have fallen asleep. I might have rearranged the furniture in the bathroom — but you can bet there’s no way I would sue them for $2 million. That’s blatant abuse of the legal system and Gokhan and his lawyer should be fined — and would be, if there were justice in America today. You can bet they won’t be and instead the airline will be forced to settle for an “undisclosed sum.” Then we all pay because we have to pay for the increased cost of doing business. Greedy bastards, that’s the only way to describe Gokhan and his lawyer.

  1. I can see where something needs to be done when a man goes on board a plane with the understanding he will have a seat and the arrangement changes. That was stupid on the part of the personnel on that ONE FLIGHT… but NO WAY is that a 2 million dollar faux pas. It is because of people like this dimwit and his blood sucking lawyer that we pay so much for goods and services. WE end up paying for these losers to live large when they don’t deserve it, and haven’t earned it.

  2. I bet if the fellow was reasonable and would have laughed about it (as I would have), the airline would have given him a free ticket. That seems like reasonable compensation to me.

  3. A free flight in first class… yep. There is way too much of this frivolous, greedy lawsuit crap going on! People in our day and age have no pride, dignity or as my father so valued in his lifetime… Integrity!!!!

  4. This one is just insane. There’s NO reason this bum should get $2 million. No way. He should honestly be fined for wasting government time. And his lawyer should be fined, too.

  5. Sitting in the crapper sucks, but 2 mill? get over it.
I would’ve been satisfied with getting the pilot suspended or fired. Or complaining to get a free round trip some where.
But what I never understood is how you can sue an company for one employee’s mistake. Unless it is a policy issue that caused the problem, how is it the company’s fault? If he were somehow injured I could see it being an insurance issue. Whatever, I guess its easier for some people to sue than to get rich from hard work.

  6. Firing the pilot? Perhaps you should talk to the people who made the rule: bureaucrats in the federal government. In other words, the ONLY reason the pilot told the man to sit in the bathroom is because the federal government would never let the pilot fly again if he didn’t.

And the primary reason they’re suing the company is because the company has money. Actually, that’s the ONLY reason.

  7. You gotta wonder if there isn’t more to this story that isn’t being said.

I bet the guy was so insistant on getting a seat they told him the bathroom was free and he took it just so he could sue.

    Sounds pretty plausable to me.

  8. He should be happy he was allowed on the plane in the first place. But yes, that sounds pretty likely, too — or he was raising such a fuss they wanted to get him somewhere to shut him up. Heck, it’s not like he couldn’t go out and walk around during the flight!
