Ogre’s Endorsements
Time for my official endorsements for the upcoming Republican primary election. Yes, I still vote Republican because deep in my heart I believe there might be a chance that someone else who wants freedom will run under that banner — and because here in NC, it’s illegal to run as anything other than a Republican or Democrat currently.
President: Ron Paul. Come on, you had to see that one coming. No, I haven’t joined the sooper-secret “Operation Chaos.” But if you want to, go ahead. I’m still sticking with Ron Paul. There’s no question that he’s better for freedom and this country than Juan McCain.
US Senate: Pete Di Lauro. I know, “WHO?” He’s called a fringe candidate. But know what? His opponent likes HUGE, enormous, bloated government. His opponent is insanely rich and has no clue what actual working people do. Pete isn’t any of that. And he wants to shrink government. That’s good in my book.
US Congress District 9: Sue Myrick. She really gets it. She understands the illegal alien invasion. She understands lowers taxes. I wish there were more like here to vote for.
US Congress District 10: I had a real hard time with this one. The current office holder appears to have no problems with breaking the law to get elected. He supports, well, whatever will get him more votes. However, his opponent is a lawyer. And I serious think that being a lawyer should completely disqualify you from being elected to any office higher than dog catcher. However, I’m willing to give anyone a chance. Therefore, I’m going with Lance Sigmon.
Governor: Again, another tough one. Most of the candidates are quite similar, with McCrory being the odd man out. McCrory is a moderate, through and through, on most issues (like taxes). So while he’s not perfect (he’s a damn bottom-feeder lawyer, too), but again, I’m willing to give him a chance to follow up with his conservative claims: I’m going with Fred Smith on this one.
Lt. Governor: I’m very torn here between Robert Pittenger and Jim Snyder. They both have great ideas and would do a wonderful job. However, with the support of Vernon Robinson, I’m going with Jim Snyder on this one (why do they have to be damn lawyers?).
Superintendent for Public Instruction: Richard Morgan is a Democrat closely involved with felon Jim Black. Joe Johnson is severely anti-gun. So the easy choice here is Eric Smith.
NC Senate District 39: No question here, Bob Rucho. He knows politics, and he’s pro-freedom (most of the time). His opponent is a liberal Democrat running on the Republican ticket.
NC House District 95: Another tough one. The incumbent, Karen Ray, is a serious elitist. She always appears annoyed that she has to submit herself to another election. You see, SHE knows better and you should just let her direct your life. At least, that’s the impression I get of her. On the other hand, her opponent, Grey Mills campaign is about taking money from other people and giving to to Iredell County. And he’s a damn lawyer, too. I think I’m going to vote Mills on this one, just to give him a chance.
And other races you want to talk about or know about?

Hey Ogre. I’m with you on just about all of your endorsements except for two. I’m going the Pat McCrory route and only voting for one lawyer. That lawyer would be Lance SIgmon so I am there with you. The other I am not voting for is Mills. He is a trial lawyer as you know that preys upon american citizens while representing illegal aliens to collect large sums of money. No way would I vote for someone with that record.
I told you, on that election, I’m very torn. I really don’t like either candidate at all. I’m well aware of Mills’ background. But I’m willing to give anyone a chance once.
Maybe if I don’t move to the Free State before the next election, I’ll run for that seat…I’ve seriously considered it often.
Many years ago I had the trauma of a sexual assault. Words can’t describe the horrer of the event. I was equally horrified at the lack of help that is available to victims of such heinous crimes.
My attacker was found guilty (after a year of waiting on our overcrowded court system) and sent to prison for only 120 days! How can the legal system expect women to continue to testify against such sexually deviant individuals and then sentence them to such a short prison stay? It is a slap in the face!
When I started the journey of trying to find a “new normal” for my life, I was shocked at how slack and outdated our laws are against sexual predators.
I made many phone calls, knocked on many office doors in downtown Charlotte, and wrote over 50 letters to anyone in North Carolina that was associated with our local and state government.
I only got your basic letter stating something like “…so sorry this happened to you, I will see what we can do to fix this in the future”….very disturbing. I had always been told that people in public office are there to listen to our concerns and help us in any way they can. Sue Myrick had one of her “people” call me to say that she would be in touch when she returned to Charlotte….I never heard from her. Jim Black’s office sent me a general form letter, well, you get the idea!
One day I got a great gift!! North Carolina Rep. Karen Ray (district 95) called me herself!! She was working (in Raleigh) on getting harsher punishments for sex offenders and stricter laws for monitoring these beasts. She explained her plans to me and promised to keep me posted. Well, she actually did!!! She called me from Raleigh when the new laws were passed!! Someone had listened and actually cared!!! WOW!! That was something new!!!
How many politicians would go to that much trouble for a woman she had never met and I DIDN’T LIVE IN HER DISTRICT!!! I am a Mecklenburg county resident!! She obviously wasn’t going for a vote by throwing me a bone!!! She was sincere.
I hope you, or your spouse, never has to live through the trauma of a sexual assault. I hope you never have to wait, for what seems like years, for the results of your AIDS test. It changes you right down to your core.
Will her opponent have the time to put in such work? How can he run his law firm, raise his VERY young kids, and still do a good job for your district?
I will not be able to vote for Karen Ray because I do not live in Iredell County, but I hope my story sheds some light on her true character. She was willing to help me. she has been working to keep these men from slithering across the path of morals to the dark, deviant side. I hope that she is re-elected. She is the better person for the job.
Thank you for your time.
Good idea. But I can not imagine getting into a race these days. It is such a nasty thing anymore and I swear, in this state and country, I do not know that one person could ever make a difference. Even if they were as noble as you Ogre. It has to be a total movement but too much is given away free these days to beat it I think. The free state is the only way to go I would say.
Thanks for stopping by and telling your story, Keeping It Real. I have to admit, this is the very first story like that I have heard relating to Karen Ray since she has first been elected to the state House — and I have attempted to contact her a few times myself with no results and I live in her district. It’s good to hear that there are at least some things she does care about.
And yes, Going, Going, Gone, that’s the biggest reason I haven’t run in the past. If I manage to win, I’ll do nothing but cause trouble because I don’t vote against the Constitution. That will ensure that the Republican Party will work hard to oust me in the next election — I’ve seen it happen.

Dear Congresswoman Myrick,
As an American who is concerned with the issue of terrorism, I applaud your efforts to prevent radical Islam from infiltrating American society. I wholeheartedly support your “Wake Up America” plan, as well as other initiatives of the Anti-Terrorism Caucus. You bring honor to the title of United States Representative.
Groups in America such as CAIR and MAS and groups overseas like Hamas and Al-Qaeda need to be shut down for their support and/or perpetration of terrorism. We hope that people recognize this threat to our society, and as well, recognize what you are doing to stop it.
Islamists like Jibril Hough, a spokesman for the Islamic Center of Charlotte, do not represent moderate Muslims, they represent radical Muslim establishment.
Sincerely,
