Cash for Arts?

Oh, the poor “arts.” Museums and alleged “cultural institutions” are very upset! They’re greatly worried that the current economic slump will affect them! Oh, and they’re supposed to be above the rest of the world. After all, without the opera hall with the Vagina Monologues, you’d never get to see such utter flith. Err.. I mean “enlightening culture.”

First of all, they SHOULD suffer. I don’t know why they think that when everyone else has no money that they should continue operations as normal. Well, I do know why — because they’re so full of themselves and believe they are above things like economics, people, and reality. But entertainment SHOULD be the first thing to suffer when people don’t have extra cash. That’s why they call it “extra” cash.

On the other hand, there is NO WAY they will suffer! I don’t believe these whiny fools for a moment. I know how arts is funded everywhere I’ve ever seen — via government. And government, when economic times are bad, simple spends (and takes) MORE! So arts councils, just because you don’t have as much from ticket sales doesn’t mean a thing — just ask your governments for more cash (you can say it’s For The Children(TM) ) and government simply will take more from working and productive people and give it to you. After all, that’s what they’re doing themselves!

  1. People whine about how the government isn’t helping enough with (the so called mortgage crisis) housing slump, yet they agree to continue funding this crap? Man they’re dumb.

  2. Yes, they’re government. Of COURSE they’re dumb. And they don’t care.

  3. Speaking of mortgage crap-

    UUGH!!!

  4. Holy crap. Did you see those details? This would put government in the housing business and would actually give them a controlling financial interest in every house! Actually, I guess that would be more honest because I’m already renting my house from the government paid for by yearly “property tax” payments…

  5. BWAHAH Now thats funny (not really but it is) your thought about renting from t he government. HEHEH!!

Yes I saw the details and it sickens me to no end…these articles that expose the Democrat plans are really nothing more than marketing hit jobs for them as well…average people who read that will be so OOOHED and AWED they’ll all be going for i t. Talk about bait and then switch.

  6. We haven’t had property rights in this country in many decades, seriously. You can pretend all you want that you own your land, but it’s simply not true. Can you tear your house down without asking government permission? No way. Can you build your own house with your own two hands? Not in a million government years. They will jail you if you attempt to. Can you just sit on your land and mind your own business? If you try to without paying your yearly rent, the Sheriff will show up and use force to take you to jail.
