Changing Religion
I’m thinking of changing religion. No, not because I’m unhappy with mine, but because I see another religion where I might be able to make a LOT of money. In fact, this religion is based on getting cash for the high priests of the religion. And our next president openly demands everyone tithe to this religion. So I think I’m going to join now so I can get in on the early cash. Of course, that religion is the religion of man-made global warming.
Now I realize it’s a complete and total lie. Actual facts (which are irrelevant in today’s society and government):
* Global warming is not a result of man’s activity;
* It cannot be stopped by actions of government or business;
* It is not bad for man and Earth, but good;
* It is part of a cyclical and natural trend of cooling and warming, not a one-way street;
* The slight warming we’ve witnessed in the last 20 years is not unusual;
* Global warming is not caused by carbon dioxide levels – natural or manmade.
But since our government is going to force people to pay for this religion, why not get in on the ground floor? So please send me $10 each for this month’s atonement for all the evil that you are doing to the planet that has supported you for so long. Continue sending me your atonements each month. I will forward them to the appropriate government religion agencies (Cabinet level Department of earth). After 10 months, you will rise to the next level of your discipleship.
And just think, all your kids who have gone to government schools have been throughly trained in this religion and if you disagree with them, they’ll just think you’re an idiot — that’s what their teachers/priests have told them. Don’t believe me? Just ask any 12-16 year old in a government school. Seriously.

Very true…most kids are indoctrinated into the Global Warming farce BIG TIME…yet they are not taught how to think critically cause they might question it all. That along with real science takes a back seat to what is the popular cause of the moment. **sigh** and short of pulling kids out of public schools I don’t know an answer..even private schools rant on about this.
The concept of thinking has been banned from government schools for DECADES. Seriously. These kids are literally being trained and not educated. The only hope IS to abandon these government institutions.

My girls had to take an out of school course on critical thinking because their school didn’t offer it. Once they took that course they began to question all of the global warming “science” and many other things as well. It goes both ways- this way of thinking and concluding. The science didn’t back up the claim ten yrs ago and it still doesn’t.
There’s a reason the government schools don’t offer it. If they would have DARED to introduce critical thinking into ANY class of their government school (including science and global warming classes), they would have been kicked out or at least failed. In today’s schools, you are not permitted to question the instructor under any circumstances!
No, the science does not exist for this — which is why I refer to it, correctly, as a RELIGION.
Point taken Ogre.
Religion is a brainwashing in of itself too (as noted).
I’m taking Religion to task this week in a series aptly called “Save Thee or Sell Thee”:

Critical thinking is usually offered at higher education institutions- and I think it’s a required course for all the sciences- medical, nursing, ect ect…but that’s it. Other wise it’s a choice course and I don’t think that many students bother with it. We have so many lemmings in the country it’s kind of obvious there’s a problem here.
Very nice Michael M. Of course be sure you attempt to differentiate between the business of organized religion and actual religion — they are indeed quite different!
And Raven, keep in mind in the higher institutions, it’s not really critical thinking as much as it’s being pointed in a suggested direction with blinders and having the student appear to come up with the predetermined answer on their own. Trust me, I see that up close all the time.
There are very few places where one can actually be taught thinking and learning — and where it is found, it is almost universally resisted.
