Plastic Death
Know what I’d like to meet? I’d like to meet and talk to a rational, logical environmentalist. No, seriously. I don’t want to make fun of them, I want to have a rational discussion and see where logic leads. Now I realize that logic and truth are not ANY part of politics or society today, but until I die, I will maintain there is such a thing as logic, logical results, and absolute truth. But back the the environmentalists.
Most of what they say can be tossed out as the rantings of the insane. The environmentalist will claim that businesses WANT to poison water, kill the planet, etc., etc., ad nauseum. But whenever they complain about something, I always wonder what it is they really want. For example, when I complain about something utterly and completely useless and beyond repair like, say, the government school system, I can explain rational, logical, FREEDOM-based alternatives. But environmentalists seem to be incapable of doing that.
The scream of the day is plastic. Now according to the environmental handbook, we all know that all plastic is evil. Now they’re trying to use recent scientific results to ensure that no one is allowed to manufacture or use plastic For The Children (TM). So my logical question is, “What would you like us to use in place of plastic?”
Now think about this for a minute.
Really.
Do you realize how much plastic we use today? Look up. Look down. Now look side-to-side. I bet you can count 100 or more things made out of plastic, even if you’re sitting on the toilet reading this. Now I’m not saying there might be drawbacks to plastic, but try and imagine all the things you’re seeing right now that are made of plastic made of something else.
The current complaint is about baby bottles. I suppose we could make them all out of glass. But at what expense? How will people be able to afford those bottles? And what side effects will it have when people start not washing the bottles completely and babies start dying from simple diseases? What about bottles that are dropped and the injuries that are caused by the broken glass? So the environmentalists claim there MIGHT be some problem with plastic — so apparently they want to replace them all with glass where there WILL be problems and injuries?
How about something else — your keyboard. I know that some of my readers are using phones and other devices, but I know most of you use keyboards. They’re plastic. What do you suppose the environmentalists want to replace that with? Shall we made them from ivory and wood like pianos from centuries gone by? Perhaps we can follow Obama’s lead and employ millions of Americans making solid steel keyboards with complex and complicated connections inside them. Oh sure, the price of a computer will go from $750 to $7,000 because of the high cost of steel, but apparently that’s okay with environmentalists.
See, this is why I really would like to talk to a rational, logical environmentalist (even if I suspect such a thing cannot exist). I want to know if they seriously, honestly want to change America back to the 1700s, to a time before electricity and cars where they can preserve the environment. Of course, they’ll have much less time to do it because the lifespan will be about 32 years instead of 72.

If you get rid of plastic Walmart will have nothing to sell.
I don’t think people REALLY realize how much plastic is apart of our lives and what taking it away will do.
Let’s ban plastic tomorrow and watch a REAL depression set in! And starvation and unemployment will rein!
I have been pondering this all day and I have a theory.
People screech about banning crap because it makes them look enviornmentally aware. Because they know deep deep down that it will never happen.
So they screech and feel good about themselves knowing all along they won’t have to live without their cheap walmart crap and saying they try to live without whatever but can’t because nobody makes alturnate stuff so they have to suffer with whatever they screech about.
Win-win for them.
It’s certainly possible. I know there are a LOT of people making a LOT of money from all this complaining. And what a scam, right? I mean complain about something, get people to pay to help you complain, knowing all along that it’s a never-ending gravy train. And then, of course, there’s people who just like to complain about stuff…
Here’s your mostly plasticless keyboard:

Now that’s pretty sharp. I could use one of those. But go ahead and imagine what those would cost in production…
This big stint against plastics shows just how rediculous these green freaks are getting i mean why dont the green freaks go and take a hike AND HOW MANY PLASTIC PRODUCTS DO THEY HAVE IN THEIR HOMES(THEY MUST LIVE IN A HOUSE)BEFORE THEY START WHINNING. Saw a incedent a few years ago where one of those dirty hippy eco-freaks was raising a rucks over those mylar balloons at a county fair and he got his fat green butt thrown out
Indeed — which is why I want to meet a rational greenie. You see, I completely support them being green themselves. I have no problem with any person who wants to live without plastic. They can build their log cabin and cut down lumber to heat their house all they want. But its completely wrong when these same people want to use government to FORCE me to live how they decide I should live. That’s wrong, no matter how you phrase it.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, there seems to be nothing that government cannot do “for the public good.” Which is the opposite of the way and reasons this country was formed.
