NC Senate Threats
So, when a policeman stops you on the road and says, “I’m asking you to do this,” what do you assume? Because of the policeman’s position and authority, the threat is implied, “or else I’ll make you or arrest you.” It’s simply there because of the person’s position. So what do you think of this email from “Communications Director, Office of the Senate President Pro Tempore:”
[your quote] is unsubstantiated and crosses the line. I respectfully ask that you revise or delete it.
Now of course this is government, so the actual quote, despite it being factual, is not part of this discussion. In other words, the author of the quote in question actually stated verifiable facts (while actually just asking a question), but the NC Senate President Pro Tempore didn’t like it, so he asked that it be censored. Any bets on a bill being introduced soon regarding punishing people for making blog posts that are offensive to the ruling class (Democrat politicians)?
