US Senate to Punish Millions

And they’re rather proud of the fact. This bipartisan scheme shows that there is not much difference between the Republicans and Democrats once again.

Their scheme is to punish hundreds of millions of hard-working Americans who have been responsible. They’re going to send men with guns to the houses of hundreds of millions and demand cash from them. The Senate will then take this money from the responsible people (around $4 BILLION) of it, and will give it to those who are irresponsible, plain and simple.

But wait, there’s more!

The scheme also creates a new bureaucracy — taking MORE cash and giving it to government to go into the housing business. Yes, you people who work for a living are now going to be paying cash to the government so they can buy and sell houses. And no, they’re not interested in making a profit, they’re just going to buy houses and resell them. Since government does such a great job in every other business they screw up, just imagine how much they’re going to utterly screw up the housing market, once they start becoming housing brokers!

There is a government solution to the housing “crisis:” GET OUT OF THE WAY! In a free country, that would happen. However, we live in the Socialist States of America, so that’s not going to happen.

Instead, if you work, your taxes will go up — someone’s got to pay this $4 billion price tag. Then, once the governments get their money, the housing market will go down even further. How? Simple — the governments are being tasked with buying up homes that are vacant or have been foreclosed. Government will not care how much the houses cost. But then government will have an inventory of houses. They’ve got two choices: give them away or sell them. Either option will lead to a further collapse of the market.

If the government decides to give them away, it is likely they will give them to people who are in the entry-level market. This will greatly reduce demand for the entry level house — which will cause the prices and values of entry-level houses to decline sharply. Even fewer people will be able to sell their houses because there will be even fewer people needing to buy houses. There may be an uptick in transfers of home ownerships, but only because government will be giving them away. Overall, the market will get even worse for those who want to sell their houses.

If government decides to sell the houses, the market will depress still. You see, government doesn’t care about making a profit, so they’ll sell the houses for a reduced price. The only way others will be able to compete in such a government-influenced market will be to reduce their own prices — again with government causing the market to go into further collapse.

ANY time government tries to “fix” something related to freedom, they can ONLY make it worse. If you want freedom, I suggest you head to another planet, because you’re not going to find it here.

  1. I am having a hard time understanding how our people can look at what is going on in Venizuela (plz forgive spelling), then attempt the exact same thing here. Basically, nationalize the housing market, nationalize healthcare, nationalize the oil companies, and nationalize banks. Let’s not forget, start up the fairness doctorine to hush the media.

Everything Hugo is doing down there, we are doing here. Everyone, looks at it down there and says “ohh, thats bad” so why would we then do the same here?

  2. Because as Ted Kennedy and his pals like to say, despite 6,000 years of evidence to the contrary, “Socialist just hasn’t worked because the right people haven’t been in charge.”

Seriously, the Democrats honestly believe that if they just get the right person running the country — and the right amount of money — they can make socialism work. Very, very sad, but true.

  3. WTF is this?? I haven’t kept up with the news this week- and the first thing I read is this?? AND from I can gather, the people aren’t getting the best “deal” here anyway- the banks are. How dumb. We’re bailing out the banks AND the dumb people- on our pennies which will soon become dollars. Damn. I get really angry when I’m doing what I have to do to stay afloat- which is called WORKING, A DARN LOT, only to see THIS. I should just stop now and call myself a dumb person and demand the gubmint bail me out.

  4. Oh, I heard the other night that Obama’s Healthcare-a-polooza will include taking 10 Per Cent of our annual income… 10%!!!!. All because there are so many people “without health care”!!! You know, I have worked, gone to school, and worked hard to develop a career so I can take care of myself and one consideration is always having access to affordable health care! I provide that for myself and it costs me usually about 1-2% of my yearly income. Now I get to look forward for paying for irresponsibility!

  5. Yes HAM I am ticked off about that too. I don’t pay 10% and why should I have to fund the health care of those who choose to stay uninsured? Pisses me off to no end.

The costs will be MUCH more than 10% too- once these liberals get ahold of it all. Just look at the state of MA for evidence of that.

  6. But Raven, the Senate SAYS that they’re not bailing out the banks. The government continues to SCREAM that they’re not bailing out anyone. And since they keep saying it over and over again, it MUST be the truth, right?

And yes, the next administration will completely socialize the health care industry. Raven, I hope you still have a job when they’re done — at least a job that pays something.

  7. “Yes, you people who work for a living are now going to be paying cash to the government so they can buy and sell houses.”

And not only at the federal level! Fairfax County, Virginia, is looking at a similar plan on the local level.

    Pure socialism!

  8. Yes, the federal plan with give cities, town, and counties MORE cash to do this — after taking it from working people, of course. The concept of a Republic in this country is simply gone. Power and cash rule all laws, justice, and politics today.

  9. [...] I’ve mentioned before, government can only “solve” problems by making more problems. It’s not that [...]
