What Economy Problem?
Wow. I wonder how many of my good readers think there’s a “problem” with the economy. I asked a few people I know and all of them thought were we in a recession already. J.P. Morgan thinks we’re in a recession. 60% of Americans think we’re in a recession. But are we?
It sure doesn’t look like it. If we were having problems with the economy, do you think we’d be able to spend millions growing bugs so we could spend more millions studying them so we could find out that moths might have memories from when they were caterpillars?
Oh wait, I see. It’s peasants who are having trouble with money, NOT government. Everyone clear on that now? If you work for a living, you’re probably affected by the recession. If you’re government or a government employee, there’s no reason to reduce spending, is there? After all, if government wants more money to spend, they just print more.

I don’t think we’re in a “true” recession but….with consumer confidence as low as it is, it feels like one. It smells like one. And you know the old saying. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, then it’s a duck.
Self fulfilling prophesy. That’s what I think.
Meanwhile, it’s KILLING me…..
I’ll tell you, it’s beating on me pretty hard, too. I feel it — but I’m not government or a government employee.
Oh I ‘m feeling it. For sure…the price of food just went sky high on me last week! Never mind gas and heating bills.
As for a recession? not yet but heading there, and fast. There’s been a few layoffs in my town and rumors abound of more…and in Nashua it’s happening a lot.
But gubmints- state and fed- keep spending like there is no tomorrow.
lol uh hit post before I was done/ DOH!
I read in the UL about how state workers here are whining about their retirement accounts and how they want…get this..PAID TIME off from…their retirement. Have we ever heard of such a thing?? Plus of course all the usual benes like paid health care, paid this, paid that.
We should all work for the states. There would be no problems ever with the economy.
Exactly. When government wants more cash, the economy makes no difference — they just raise taxes and print more money. Remember — in Charlotte since people started conserving water, the utilities complained about a loss of revenue — so they just raised the rates to compensate.
When the nation’s economy suffers, only the peons suffer — government NEVER will. They’re too self-important.
