Rights In America

So, do you have any rights in America? No, really, do you? What rights do you think you have?

I think the courts are currently working hard to ensure that you don’t really have any rights, even if you think you do. Just take a look at a couple recent quotes from our black-robed rulers:

voters in Oregon have no legal right to have their petition signatures counted

Wouldn’t it be neat if we had the right “petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” I think that would be a key right in a free country. But this judge clearly has outlined that if you have a problem with government, you are to shut up. Government not only doesn’t have to listen to you, you don’t even have the right to talk to them. Be careful what you say to elected officials these days — because you don’t have the right to complain to them, according to this judge.

parents do not have a constitutional right to homeschool their children.

I wish there were a law that would prevent government from “prohibiting the free exercise” of religion. I’d love to have the “right of the people peaceably to assemble.” I think it would be really cool if I had “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.” But judges are pretty consistent these days — you have zero rights related to children. After all, It’s For The Children ™.

Government has decided what religion they will support and you are no longer allowed to teach your children another. Oh sure, YOU can have a different religion, but if you attempt to teach that to your children, you will be jailed. It’s For The Children ™.

Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

  1. Very true.

No where in our history have we seen the oppression we’re seeing now. Modern day culture and politically correct mind sets have removed much of our freedoms. Sadly those who claim to be progressive and freedom loving are anything but.

    (SNEEZE!! lol)

I believe it will only get worse because too many people are just idly going about their lives, not paying attention the small but growing list of laws and oversights and rulings that tell us how we shall live..

It’s going to take a revolution to end it.

  2. And I’m afraid at this point, nothing short of a violent revolution will do it. I don’t want that, but I don’t see any other way.
