Absolutely. When I was a kid, I remember my brother and I spending hours combing the ditches on the highway by our house gathering pop bottles to cash in.
You would never see kids doing that now.
I remember treasuring so many things that kids today don’t care one whit about. EVERYTHING is replaceable to most of this generation — including life.
I even remember walking the railroad tracks by Grandmas and finding those wonderful, sweet wild strawberrys! Better than any candy ever made!!! But alas, you are right, kids aren’t being raised to enjoy the simple pleasures or to respect anyone or anything.
I understand, in a way, because many things now ARE disposable. Look at toys — they used to be solid, handcrafted things that had value and lasted a long time. Now they’re plastic crap — they really DON’T have value.
