House Democrats Raise Gas Prices
So, did you see the news? Oh, the headline didn’t read anything about gas prices, did it? Sorry, the editors must have missed that one — I’m sure completely by accident. By my headline is quite a bit more accurate.
Well, it’s simply true that the Democrats in the US House voted to raise the price of the gas that you pay for at the pump. Anyone who claims that’s not true is simply wrong. Democrats raised the price of gas by $18 billion. How much will that cost per gallon? I don’t know. But you can be sure — when the gas prices go up, it will once again be ONLY government’s fault. So don’t blame Bush when the prices rise — because Bush has said he wants to veto that gas price increase!
Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the House Democratic majority leader, said that he thinks modern conveniences stink. He would prefer that we all use horse and buggys for travel and candles and fire for light and heat. Seriously. He is annoyed that we depend on automobiles and electricity and says that it’s bad that we do.
Oh, and Pelosi said that we have to increase the price of gas because it’s not enough that the price of corn and food is skyrocketing, and instead if we increase the price of gas, then more people will use ethanol and food prices will go up even more. Well, maybe she didn’t say that, but that’s what she supports. In case that was too confusing, I’ll try again:
Pelosi and the Democrats support, and have voted to, raising the cost of gasoline AND the cost of food.
Must be nice to be part of the government where you don’t care how much things cost for the “little people.”

You’re right, the oil companies aren’t just going to swallow the difference. They are going to pass it on to the consumers. After that the price of shipping will go up, which will raise the cost of every item you buy in the store.
It’s the domino or trickle effect of taxes and tax cuts. It’s only going to get worse.

Funny, liberals think “going after the big oil companies and the money” makes them heros. Fact is, in their “effort to redistribute wealth” they not only steal away freedom, but pull it from the average hard working Joe’s pockets. I am just sick of the socialism in Congress sucking the life out of freedom loving Americans. I went out on a site called Zombietime and looked at some of the photos from liberal Beserkley protests. A young boy holding up a sign that says “FBomb” the Conservative Neo Nazies, you kids flipping off patriotic counter protestors, and then there were the tree huggers protesting, trying to save the trees in a park… NUDE!!!! What does nude have to do with saving trees? It’s that these people have no morals or values. I wonder what God thinks looking down at that stupidity? Men exposing themselves on public streets in front of children during the Gay Street Fair and performing sex acts in public! It’s like Sodom and Gomorrah!!! When I was young, the Democrat party didn’t support this kind of moral deficit and decay.
They didn’t support the wholesale slaughter of unborn Americans… but over the last few decades, they have come to represent everything reprehensible in my book. Seeing so much wretchedness in America is really starting to depress me severely. I pray and ask God to not allow me to lose hope, but I feel it slipping away. When did liberals become so ugly that they could with pain and suffering on a former first lady???

There is a reason you’re not supposed to put hope in men. Despite all you read here, I have lots and lots of hope — because I know in the end, good WILL win and evil men (like Democrats) will lose. We’re not in control. There IS a higher power who will make sure everything turns out right.
And recently I studied some about Sodom and Gomorrah. I believe the only reason that God hasn’t destroyed America is because there are still at least a few faithful left…for now.
I know you are right Ogre, but the desire to see my grandchildren, if I have any (right now both son’s don’t see the purpose in bringing children into this life), have the kind of life I was blessed with. That will not happen, I don’t believe. This country is not made up of the things it was when I was a child. I am thinking about going to a weekend women’s retreat in Apr. with my friend Helen. The ladies in her church are planning it, and I think it would be good to recharge my spiritual batteries and help me connect and determine His direction for me. Sounds better all the time.
Sorry if it seems I’m having a meltdown here, it is just overwhelming sometimes. Thanks for your words Ogre, it helps to be reminded about “who is really in charge”.
It’s DEFINITELY overwhelming — if you let it be. I think a large number of people are like me and thinking like you — we want a life of freedom for our children. However, we’re coming to realize that’s not going to be under this government in America. Since there’s not really any land on earth that’s not claimed by a government, the current best practical option is to simply ignore government.
Sure, you risk being arrested and killed, but that can be the price of freedom.
