This is My Hill

by J.J. Jackson.

The opening paragraph:

Eventually, if you want to enact positive change you have to fight for that change. If you don’t, you’ll just get more of the same. Right now America is in full retreat, being chased from each hilltop by anti-American forces touting their weapons of class warfare, rights descendant from bureaucrats and mob rule where the minority is not protected.

Wow. This guy really, really gets it. I think the biggest problem is that the masses don’t get it. As America is shoved from one hill to another, they’re being ushered along by enemies of freedom. The masses are being told, “Oh, come right over here. Just head to that next hill, then everything will be great. No, I know we said that before, but just one more hill. It will be fine. After all, it’s for the children.”

If anyone resists, it gets uglier, “Gee, you’re not one of THOSE are you? You don’t hate blacks or children, do you? Because only racists and sexists don’t move on to the next hill. You don’t want me to be forced to call you ugly names, do you?”

Unfortunately, there’s not much that can be done today. Freedom has lost, folks. It’s over. No, I’m not giving up hope, but I am giving up hope of being free — that’s just not going to happen any time soon. Oh, I’ll still fight for freedom, but I know that I can’t possibly win. It does make the battles easier, even if it does get me branded “crackpot” again and again. I know what freedom is, and I won’t let others forget.
