Valentine’s Day Message
It’s Saint Valentine’s Day. There’s lots you can talk about on Saint Valentine’s Day, including the actual Saint Valentine, the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre, and the commercialism of Saint Valentine’s Day. The day has traditionally become a day of “love” and messages of love to sweethearts. Well, I’ve got a message for my good readers today.
I’m not going to tell you you’re good. I’m not going to tell you how wonderful you are. Instead, at the risk of alienating my readers, I’m going to instead let you know that you’re not good, actually, you’re quite evil. There’s times when you do wrong. I’m not judging you, just stating facts. I don’t believe that people are good and do things that are bad — instead, people are evil and have to work hard to do things that are good.
You can see this even more in today’s society where the general attitude is that it’s only wrong if you get caught. Well, you know, better than anyone else, exactly how and when you’re doing wrong. You can rationalize away all you like, but you’re still doing things that are wrong and bad. Oh, it’s not just you, it’s me, too, believe me!
But my message today is that none of that really matters. There’s someone who still loves you — no matter what you’ve done. No matter how much wrong you’ve done. And even though you’re bad and evil, he still let his son die so that you could have eternal life. I can’t imagine a love more powerful. Indeed, know good reader, on this day, that God loves you. He truly does.
