Ogre’s Politics and Views

Now the office of Lt. Governor doesn’t get a lot of coverage. The campaigns, although expensive, certainly fall behind the scenes. In fact, I suspect the vast majority of people don’t even vote for Lt. Governor — they press the “R” or “D” button and go on their way.

But this Robert Pittenger is working hard to raise the profile of this position. He’s now endorsed by James Martin, the only Republican governor of North Carolina (ever, I’m pretty sure). He’s got the support of Patrick Ballantine, a strong conservative who ran for governor in 2004. NCFree is saying good things about him, too.

Now let me talk with the folks at Grass Roots NC (real gun rights) and the Right to Life folks and see if this fellow really holds conservative positions, or if he just says that he has them now…
