Schools Free to Lie

Did you know that in America today, anything government does is perfectly okay — even if it crushes religious rights? Seriously, that IS the state of America today.

Now I’ll admit — we do have more freedom of religion in America than in many other countries. But if there were an undiscovered country somewhere that I could head for and explore and settle where I would have religious freedom, I’d jump on that boat in a minute.

In Maryland, a judge has ruled that the government school can teach whatever they please. It does not matter if what they are teaching is wrong. It does not matter if what they are teaching is not factual. It does not matter if what they teach promotes a clear political agenda and is wrong. And it does not matter if what they are teaching is in direct opposition to strongly held traditional religious beliefs.

And the government there is quite happy with the decision. The board members openly tell you that if you have religious beliefs you are NOT WELCOME in Montgomery County, MD. No, they’re not arresting you yet, but I’m willing to bet that they soon will. Go ahead, try and convince me there’s no bias against Christians in America today.

  1. I commented on Cao’s this morning that one of the things about Democracy that bites us in the butt is that we allow our basic freedoms to everyone. Are you a mouthy Marxist who hates the same Democracy that allows you to bad mouth the USA without getting slammed in a goulag???? Go for it!!! Are you a “ememy of the US” who wants to see all “infidels” converted to your religion of hate or dead… go ahead and spew your hate for us from your pulpit!!!! Are you a frustrated marxist, academic moron who likes to wear pink and spew hatred for our government and military and destroy government property in the process??? Have it it…it’s your right!!! But let me go to a public place and want to pray to my God or tell someone what God has done for me in my life… why… that’s politically incorrect and might OFFEND someone!!!! What is wrong with “freedom of speech” that is does not apply equally to all? We have been pulled so far away from the freedom our forefathers forged for us over 300 years ago. And why, because as a nation we were niave enough to believe that we could be a melting pot for the world and no group would be vicious enough to want to destroy us. On that, they are doing a fine job too.

  2. We DON’T allow freedom to everyone, and THAT is the problem. As you mention, freedom is applied differently to different groups. If you are a “protected” group, you get more rights than others.

And the solution to this particular problem IS freedom — freedom for all. Get government completely out of the schools, and this will simply not be an issue at all. Each school can teach what they want, and if you don’t like it, you can go to a different school. Simple solution and doesn’t cost me (the taxpayer) one thin dime.

  3. Yeah, but Government likes to be in control of EVERYTHING, even though they are lousy at running ANYTHING. They aren’t going to hand over the reigns of POWER without a fight. But if we shrink government, we shrink power. That is why they have worked overtime to “play and dumb down Ron Paul”. He represents everything that would destroy the power stranglehold on the people.

  4. Exactly correct. Today’s PRIMARY purpose of government is control, period. Literally nothing else matters to 99% of politicians today. And yes, they cannot STAND to give up any power — which means they will not permit freedom.

Increases in freedom mean a decrease in power. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
