Open up the GOP Race

I got this in email. What do you think?

Today, I’m calling for conservatives to consider opening up the Republican presidential race by bringing in a new candidate–someone who can unite economic, social, and nation-security conservatives and lead us to victory
in November.

Please read what I have to say in a brief article.

If you agree with me, please forward this message to your friends.

  1. The man makes a point. We have Ann Coulter stating that if the candidate is McCain, she’ll vote for Clinton, and many talk radio people basically saying the same thing… That thought is just plain wrong!!! Maybe the best way to get the GOP to give us more conservative, freedom loving choices could be by demanding they open it up! I sent the link to my home email and will look at Congressional records and email the guy my thoughts at least.

  2. I think if McCain is the nominee, the Republican Party will indeed get hurt for a long time.

  3. Could be the end of the GOP as we know it Ogre.

  4. Rush certainly thinks so.

I think the Republican Party as the party of conservatives ended long ago — just conservatives refused to believe it. McCain will just solidify the Republican Party as the moderate party and conservatives will finally realize in vast numbers that there is no party that represents them.

  5. I won’t vote McCain for president. At least with Clinton and Obama I know exactly what’s coming down the pipe.

  6. Well with McCain, you do, too — the exact same things you would get with Hillary and Obama. :(

  7. yea, except with them they won’t try to pretend their conservative while doing it or try to fool me into thinking they may do something conservative.

  8. Well, they’ll lie, just about other stuff.

  9. We may have to take four years of a Jimmy Carter type to get eight years of a Ronald Reagan type. But in the end, Reagan did not restore the country completely from the damage Carter did.

I think I WILL vote for McCain if it comes down to it. But I will be holding my nose when I do it.

(I won’t vote for Romney unless it is in the primary just to guarantee a brokered convention.)

  10. Good points about Reagan. But right now I’m tending to agree with Rush and others who say that if McCain is the nominee, and especially if he wins, the Republican Party really will be forever and permanently changed.

  11. I’m all for starting a new party. The “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Party” and our symbol can be the Rattle Snake” with the “Don’t Tread on Me” motto. LOL!!!!
If I can’t laugh, I’ll probably cry, so excuse me guys. I have really huge problems with the way McCain and Kerry seem to be in bed together and the way they have done the POW/MIAs. McCain is just a spoilt, self-centered puke with many hidden agendas.

  12. I just checked — in North Carolina, I need 70,000 “validated” signatures (from at least 4 Congressional districts) to create a new party.

I wonder if I can get the “None of the Above” party organized…

  13. I bet I could get one going here! LOL!!! There could just be a revolution this year at the GOP Convention!
If enough Republicans went about the business of going through the motions of trying to create a “3rd Party” it would certainly “Send a Message” wouldn’t it?

  14. Anyone know how much it would cost to get a “domain for a website” for say… 6 months??? I am thinking I would put a “form letter” up in downloadable adobe format that could be signed and snailmailed to me committing to joining the “American Freedom Party”. A way to collect signatures nationwide! I bet it could be done. Just set up the basic principals and platform right there on the site and the downloadable letter. I bet that would get the GOP’s attention before the Convention!!!!

  15. Here’s a guy who has links to lots of third parties already (none of which are legal in North Carolina):

    http://www.dailypundit.com/AmericanConservativeParty/2008/02/face_it_were_all_fringe_nutjob.html

And he wants to form another one called the “American Conservative Party.”

  16. wow the article originally linked in the post is no longer there.

  17. Things move fast in algore’s internets.

  18. I would definately be in support of backing a new party.
North Carolina hasn’t made freedom illegal yet have they Ogre? Thanks for the link.

  19. 70,000 certified signatures to get a new party listed in NC. That’s a lot.
