No God = Poor Health

Hey, did you know that if you make up your own God, that you are more likely to have poor mental health? I have to admit, this news really doesn’t shock me.

You see, in general, the Christian religion is about selflessness. It’s about realizing that there IS a power higher than yourself. It’s about realizing that there is an absolute right and wrong and that there is an ultimate judge of good and evil. Sure, many people reject that idea — a lot because they simply don’t want to be held responsible. Some reject it because they want the highest power in the world to be government (most Democrats think this way).

You see, it’s rather humbling to realize that there really is something beyond this petty, small, and evil world. When you realize that there is a much higher power that will take care of true justice for all, you can rest a little easier. And when elections don’t go your way, it really doesn’t matter all that much because you know that an election matters little in the scope of the world and time.

So you go ahead and make up your own god. Choose the religion that makes you your own god. You might feel good for awhile, but I’m betting in the long run, you’re going to realize that’s just not right. The world and everything simply is not about you. There’s a lot more to it than that.

  1. I am just glad I have something “higher” to believe in right now, because things aren’t looking so good on the little green golf ball!!!

  2. That’s the whole point, my dear!

  3. At least if I don’t “get the point” in any other part of my life this week, I get this one, eh? Thanks for presenting the most comforting “point” there is or ever will be brother Ogre! God Bless.

  4. Anyone who puts their faith in any person is sure to be disappointed. There’s no person on this planet that’s perfect.
