Jessica’s Law Now NC

The following situation is one of many that have occurred. Jessica’s Law Now North Carolina are fighting help make the difference.

As the saying goes, “if you can’t do the time then do not do the crime.” This is how this mother feels, about what had occurred with my child being assaulted by a sex offender. I feel that North Carolina Laws are still not strict enough, when it comes to sex offenders. Even thought the sex offender had a tracking device, it was not enough to stop him. The tracking device only was a record of his where- abouts. If the device would have made it clear to authorities that he was in area, that he was not allowed to be in, then my child would not have endure the reoccurring nightmares of the assault. This is why, I have join in with Jessica’s Law Now North Carolina, to make a difference in our state laws. So other children will not be robbed of their innocence and find themselves at the hands and mercy of a monster.

Signed,
Frustrated Mother of North Carolina

  1. I can’t believe in this day and age, given the horriffic examples we see all the time, of crimes purportrated against children, that anyone would have to “work at getting Jessica’s Law enacted” in any state! Of course, who would have believed that our own President would place the verdict of an International court over the verdict of a court in Texas that decided that a Mexican national deserved the death penalty for his part in cruelly raping, torturing and murdering two girls aged 15 and 13! It blows me away that protecting our most valuable resources from predators and murderers isn’t considered a “no brainer” by civilized society! Go figure.

  2. If “sex offender” is defined correctly, I’d lean towards capital punishment — like when the victim is under age 13, and the perpetrator is an adult…

  3. I always thought that maybe making it punishable by “neutering a man like a dog” and coming up with something similar for women who participate in the act, well, it wouldn’t be capital punishment now would it? Kind of like making the punishment fit the crime.
I like the age consideration too, because many times I have seen young girls who’s behavior should be considered entrapment. I would hate to see a young man or woman be executed because he or she was seduced. There are young boys and girls who are very permiscuous and one has to look at that when they are over 13. JMHO.

  4. If someone is an adult, they are supposed to know better than having sex with a 12-year old, no matter how hard the 12-year old tries…

  5. To be classifed as an adult, one SHOULD HAVE common sense Ogre, but that is not always the case. Having seen some of my younger son’s friends, they are really dumb and have no common sense what-so-ever, but even they wouldn’t mess with underaged girls. They don’t even find them appealing because they “act dumb”. So anyone who breaks the law should do time when it comes to underaged girls/boys. But if an adult (aged 18+) molests a child 12 and under… I say bring back hangings or casterate em.

  6. That’s it — you don’t have to have common sense to obey the law — or to be punished if you don’t obey something as simple as not having sex with children.
