Truth vs. Education

So, who do you think will win? Yes, this is like the old Superman vs. Batman conversations that kids always had. In one corner is the truth, good, and right, and in the other is the US Education system (not related in any way, shape, or form to the actual meaning of the word “education,” of course).

Of course since the Education system has quite literally infinite amounts of money. If the education system wants more money (and they ALWAYS do), they just say “it’s for the children,” and the various levels of government give them more money, no questions asked, no results expected. So in the short term, certainly, the education system will beat truth every time. The hard part comes when people leave the education system and find out that the real world has absolutely no relationship to the crap that is the public education system.

And of course, if the education system needs help, they can just turn to made-up figures. Yes, now spider-man will help spread lies to those who are forced into the education system. The UN will, with YOUR cash (taken by your government) print and distribute millions of comic books that “teach” children that the UN is good. No, the comic won’t include any of the truth about the UN — like how filled with corruption and slime it really is.

Only the UN, living in it’s own fantasy world, can believe that their “image” is important and that a fantasy character will improve that image. Unless, of course, they’re trying to improve their real image — that they are wasteful, worthless, slimy, controlling bureaucrats of the worst type.

  1. Sounds like a mass brainwashing scheme to me. When do they decide to remove “protein” from school lunches??? That is how you make the brainwashing task work more effectively.

  2. It’s what the education system is designed to do. Seriously. The government education system in this country is designed to indoctrinate, NOT educate.

  3. Hey Ogre, i’m usually a supporter but here I have to digress. I retired some years ago with the intentions of teaching at the high school level. I had worked my way through college and grad school and was ready to take this on. When I got there, I discovered the teacher had to teach to the test.. I’m not making this up, teachers were encouraged not to give homework, textbooks were issued to teachers but kept in the classroom and not given to students except during class times. Any learning that went on during this class day took place in the one and one half hour class periods. Discussions were completely new to students since homework was not encouraged. II students were short background information, they were sent to the library to log on to sites that might enlighten them as to what the teacher would like them to be familiar with. As I said, I’m not making this up, I loved my area of expertise and would love to teach but the system as it exists is not a system of education but a trap for the unwary who will not teach to the test. I left the classroom before I could be seduced by the benefits of state system of health care and retirement that is more than adequate for the participants. My advice is to return to a basic system of education. Get rid of of unions, get rid of class times that exceed one and one half hours. GIVE HOMEWORK!! GIVE TEXT BOOKS TO STUDENTS. MAKE THEM READ THE BOOKS! IF THEY FAIL, RETAKE THE COURSE! Word gets out. LOCAL CONTROL IS CRUCIAL!!! CALL PARENTS!! LET THEM KNOW WHEN STUDENTS ARE NOT DOING WELL!!

  4. In other words, you’re completely and totally agreeing with me!

The SYSTEM is not made to teach or educate. Sure, there’s a few teachers that want to teach and see learning go on — but the “Education” SYSTEM has ZERO interest in teaching, education, or having students know how to learn anything!

If you want to know the true and real purpose for today’s education system, read this:

    It’s LONG, but insanely accurate.

  5. Having read your BIanca piece, I feel more and more inadequate as a teacher. One of my students, a girl who had attempted suicide more than once attacked another student. When this happens you break up the fight and return the class to normalcy. This student was in my class as a result of laws passed requiring all students be placed in the same class room no matter their psychological positioning. This should be changed! No class should last more than forty-five minutes. Teachers opinion no withstanding! Students can-not be held attentive for more than this time. Get over it teachers, if you don’t like this suggestion leave the profession!

  6. In your example, the student MUST stay in the classroom. Why? Because that student is cash in the back. This is why Charlotte’s schools have had registered sex offenders in the classroom — because every child that is in a classroom on any day is literally cash to the school district. Nothing else matters to them.

As for teachers, the school honestly WANTS you to feel inadequate! You’re more pliable and will do what they want if you feel you have no purpose or value. It’s how the system works.

There’s a reason I honestly say and believe that the government school system is completely evil.

  7. I’m curious and I may as well ask about it here. What are your thoughts about “Debra LaFave”… the teacher who “molested a 14 yr. old student”. Don’t get me wrong here… what she has done is inappropriate and wrong… but I think she probably needs to go to a mental hospital as opposed to jail. Having a son who is 19 and another who is 21 and in the military, well in my mind… and I know this may sound nuts, but don’t most young pubescient males get “their experience” with older women much of the time??? It is hard to think of it as molestation. But of course it is morally wrong and I do think there is something wrong with anyone who is attractive and adult age radiating toward immature kids in the sexual sense. My question… do you think I’m being reverse sexist in doubting that this kid felt even remotely “violated” by this woman??? Being that both my sister and brother are both in the teaching profession, my brother being an administrator, I fully intend to ask them their thoughts on this at our next gathering, but since Jeff is in education and Ogre is just Ogre and can lend his perspective… I just had to ask! I bet even Raven will show up for this one!!!! :-)

  8. It’s an example of the justice system and political correctness. Indeed, males and females in that situation should be treated differently. But the justice system has a hard time doing that because they’ll be accused of being sexist.

On the other hand, she was a teacher and in a position of responsibility. Lock her away. Justice is SUPPOSED to be blind.

  9. I think it is a sign of a mentally disturbed mind… I think she needs to be in a mental hospital. The problem I have… what about the 14 year old boy. Is he truly “damaged for life” or are his parents outraged and looking for a lawsuit against the school system? We live in a time where people care more about cash opportunity than what’s good for their loved ones I think. I would like to know if the parents have settled for her being taken out of the school system and if they have sought any kind of “family counselling” or just found a good attorney??? If I were to lay odds given the number of people I’ve seen respond to odd situations… I’d lay money on the attorney.

  10. I’m sorry, you live in the dark ages. No one’s allowed in mental institutions any more. Those are politically incorrect. I bet you think I’m kidding. Nope. The only people allowed there are physically dangerous — ones who would kill others immediately. No one else is allowed. EVERYONE else, including these women, just have different points of views than you and I.

  11. Actually, I think they go to a Club Med Jail for a few weeks and then they get cut loose. But yeah, I do live in another time, a time when common sense ruled, good judgement won out and yes my friend… I too yearn for freedom. :-)

  12. “Common Sense?” Are you just asking for a jail term, hate speecher?
