Ogre’s Fashion Tip #1

I know what you’re thinking — fashion tips from an Ogre? Sorry, but I’ve been out in public recently and quite unimpressed with the general public. I think I’m going to stay in my cave a bit longer. In the meantime, the quick fashion tip:

You women who wear those earrings in your nose (I’m sure there’s some term for them) — it doesn’t look “cute,” “good,” “sexy,” or “neat.” It just looks like you wiped your boogers on the outside of your nose. Really. You might think because it’s small that it looks neat and shiny, but it just looks like the light reflecting off a booger. That is all.

  1. Great tip. Nothing upsets my stomach more than to go out for dinner, treating myself, because I don’t do it that much, and have a “server” wait on me that has 3 eyebrow piercings, 20+ piercings on one ear, the nose jobby, the lip piercing and the tongue pierced!!! It just ruins my meal to think about the source of bad infections and flesh eating bacteria, that may be bringing my dinner to me! Eeeeeecccchhhh!!!!!!!

  2. LOL!!

My oldest daughter has a nose stud…but she took it out a couple weeks ago after some snowmobiling and issues caused by it…kids get them because they think it’s the **IN** thing to have…NOT!!

Of course I have a belly ring- did it myself over 20 yrs ago long before they were popular. I did it cause I liked the look I saw at the Head Shop in Nashua (lol)…and NO ONE ELSE had one. Now? Pfft. Everyone has them. EVen guys.

  3. EVERY time I see one of these things, my first thought is always, “Hey, you need to wipe that thing off your nose.” Then I realize it’s “supposed” to be there…

  4. I recently volunteered for a “teach for america” kind of program, and a few of the volunteers have these shiny boogers. They have been told they may not wear them into the schools. The response should be interesting…

  5. I would expect an ACLU lawsuit…

  6. I detest them in service people (ie: waitresses, cashiers, etc) it doesn’t say much for the business’ image if allowed.

Sweetie couldn’t find a trackback link, but put you in my WeekEnd Wrap Up post.

  7. That’s the problem with being a “trailblazer” Raven… everyone ends up copying you “cause yer sooo kewl”!!!!
My darling youngest niece got a belly ring when she was in highschool. Now a wife, mother of 3 and career woman, the belly ring had to go bye bye during the first pregnancy because of risk of “tearing her navel”. All because women in my family get really big bellies!!! LOL!!! None of this having a baby and not knowing your pregnant! Doncha just love genetics!

  8. Thanks, Jo. I think for trackbacks, you just use the same link as the post permalink.

And Raven just likes to be different… ;)
