Feds Ban Gold-Backed Trading
The FBI shows again their horrible abuse of power. They are completely and totally wrong in this case, but they don’t care. And yes, I say the entire system is broken because numerous different people could have stopped this from happening, but they didn’t.
In the case, the FBI raided and shut down the offices of Liberty Dollar. This is a company that sells gold to people who want to buy it. Well, some people used that gold to trade — and the government absolutely hates any sort of competition and apparently some people were using these “Liberty Dollars” instead of federal reserve notes (those green papers in your wallet). Well, since the government will kill and destroy anyone who dares to disagree with them, they did. They shut down the company and seized all their assets — including lists of customers who bought these Liberty Dollars.
So, what do you do if someone comes to your house when you’ve done nothing wrong, enters with guns and takes everything you own? Well, since they have the force of government behind you, absolutely nothing. Either that or die. It really is that simple of a choice. Sure, the Liberty Dollar folks are trying to file a class action lawsuit — but keep in mind, there’s already more than one judge that has signed on and approved the FBI stealing and shutting down the business. No, not because they were doing anything illegal (they weren’t), but instead because of “mail fraud!”
That’s correct — if you voluntarily sell something through the mail (that is perfectly legal to sell) and the government doesn’t like it, they will shut you down. Nope, no need to break laws — disagree with the government and they will destroy you, no matter what laws might or might not exist.
Once upon a time, this was a free country. You were free to trade goods and services with other people. That is no longer the case. You may only engage in any commerce with the explicit permission of the government. If you do not ask permission, you will be arrested, jailed, or killed. Man, this government truly sucks.

Unbelievable. You know, I had looked at Liberty Dollar recently too as something to invest in. I would have been hauled off to jail. The government is a traitor to the very freedom its supposed to represent.
Since they’ve seized the list of customers who bought Liberty Dollars, the feds will be arresting people for a long time for this.
At this time, it’s safest to buy gold and silver as minted by other countries, through brokers such as Liberty Coin or R.W.Bradford & Co. They’re highly reliable, and their nerchandise, which does not contain the words “dollar” or “United States of America,” cannot be held to be an infringement on the federal money monopoly by any standard.
Interestingly, the word “dollar” is an Americanization of the German word “thaler,” a German silver coin from the years of the Founding which was a popular medium of exchange in the Colonies. Perhaps the German government should be alerted to Washington’s infringement of their money monopoly!
You’re probably right — either that or buy gold coins from the US mint itself. But that is so sad that something as common and historical as gold cannot be used in this country and ends up being, basically, contraband.
