Ron Paul: Wow

I’m amazed. This is just incredible. In case you missed it, Ron Paul appears to have collected over $6,000,000.00 in one day. This is more than, well, any other candidate has ever collected in one day. That’s a lot of money. And interestingly enough, this wasn’t from rich people. This wasn’t money collected $2,300 at a time. The average donation amount was just over $50.

What’s so amazing (beyond the almost zero media coverage of this huge event) is how this was done. It wasn’t done with $1000-a plate dinners. It wasn’t done by inviting someone famous to come speak. It wasn’t even done with people buying access to the candidate and getting pictures with him. It was just one person who said, “Hey, if you like this guy, let’s all do this.”

The campaign had nothing to do with the event. The campaign coordinated nothing. And over 25,000 people donated for the first time.

This was not huge donations to a PAC. These were thousands of $25, $50, and $100 donations by individuals to an individual. Over 200,000 individuals this month said, “Ron Paul, we like your message. We like freedom.” That’s just awe-inspiring.

If you’re not supporting Ron Paul, won’t you take a moment to see what all the fuss is about? Don’t accept what others have told you. If you’ve heard he’s a “nut,” ask why. If he’s a “nut” because of his positions, then I’m a “nut,” too, because I honestly like freedom. Ron Paul CAN win. Ron Paul can beat any Democrat that gets put up because he has a draw across the aisle like you can’t imagine. Again, if you’ve heard bad things about Ron Paul, please take a moment and view his web site and read his positions. I think his positions are better than anyone else out there, no matter the issue.

He raised $6 million yesterday. He’s raised over $18 million this quarter. He’s got support, he’s got money. All he needs now is your vote.

Nope, no bias here. Nothing to see here. Just read what the news media feeds you and pay attention to nothing else.

  1. And you don’t even have to invest in a pair of flip flops to understand his message! Amazing. :-) Laura Ingraham gave mention to the “Tea Party” over the weekend and the amount he got but not much else. I am convienced she is all about promoting herself and her book, not much more.

I guess the weekend demonstrated that there are many Americans out there that are lovers of freedom and liberty Ogre!

  2. There’s very little news coverage on this. But it still is the most money raised by any politician ever. You can bet if ANY other candidate broke this record, there’s be TONS of news coverage.

  3. Yep… I know there would be, especially if it was one of the Liberal Socialist Democrats! It would be all over MSNBC and CNN along with projections that the candidate was a shu-in!

  4. The absolute terror that Ron Paul causes spreads. Freedom is scary to those who oppose it.

  5. Freedom is a beautiful thing, but when you have to take the uncomfortable parts with the fun parts, well… it is scary to some. In order to really have freedom, an individual has to take on Responsibility and Accountability… two very scary things for many people.

  6. Freedom is wonderful — but freedom is not nice. Freedom doesn’t favor one group over another — and a lot of people don’t like either of those ideas. They WANT government to be nice. They WANT government to favor groups. Those people are selfish bums.
