Illegals and North Carolina Community Colleges

The battle of words is heating up in North Carolina. The liberals are demanding that illegal aliens be given, well, anything they want for free, including an education at the state community college system. The left claims that no illegals are getting in-state tuition, and that they are being charged out of state rates. That, of course, is just not true. You see, I’ve had direct experience with the “residence verification” process at the state university system. It goes something like this:

University Official: You’re claiming in-state rates. Do you have a North Carolina driver’s license that’s dated more than 1 year ago?
Me: Yes, here.
University Official: Right, you’re in.

That’s it. And keep in mind, North Carolina openly issues driver licenses to, well, anyone who walks up and asks for one, regardless of their citizenship status (and registers them to vote, too). So, if you’re openly breaking the law and are in this country illegally and you refuse to obey they law, you, too, can get piles of taxpayer dollars just for the asking. And yes, you can get in-state tuition quite easily — which is heavily subsidized by the taxpayers of North Carolina.

Dr. Robert Luekbe has more analysis of the real total costs of this farce. Of course, all the words in the world don’t matter because Democrats rule North Carolina with an iron fist (and have for literally over 100 years). Republicans, however, know that the vast majority of citizens DO NOT want to give their cash to illegals and are hoping that this might get a few more people to vote Republican because the Republicans might actually do what the people want. The Democrats won’t — and they don’t care because they’ve so gerrymandered the system it will be a miracle if Democrats EVER lose control and power in this state.

  1. Would that Vast Majority of citizens be the “The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” everyone has been looking for since Bill was in office and Hillary told America “They” were out there and against her and Bill? Just wondering as it is always good to be watchful and vigilant you know!

If you can get the Mancow show on Freedom Radio… your guy, Ron Paul is going to be on this morning. :-)
I got it in my care for about 15 minutes this morning… before it died again. :-(

  2. “car” not “care”… this is going to be a bad typo day I can see. Geesh!

  3. In North Carolina, it’s not the vast right wing conspiracy, it’s the vast mass of peons that serve the Democrat masters. And I’m not kidding. The Democrats here honestly believe they are royalty. They only allow elections to occur because they already know the outcome and it appeases the rebels. Seriously.

As for the mancow show — is that anything like the Man Show from Comedy Central?

  4. Let’s fill up the seats at community colleges with illegal invaders. That way, citizens can’t find enrollment. [sarcasm]

  5. Citizen? What is this “citizen” thing of which you speak?

  6. No, he’s a Fox personality that does talk radio. He’s on the same station with Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity, and others. You can do a search tor radio 95.9 FM or Freedom Radio and similcast the broadcast right on your computer. It should be a great interview if it is with Mancow. He is more of a conservative Libertarian kinda guy.

  7. You can try a search on “Mancow in the Morning” too.

  8. I’ll see if I can find it when I’m not working here while I’m at work… ;)

  9. Oh, you do THAT too! LOL!!!

  10. I’m sure I have no idea what you’re talking about… :)

  11. In all honesty, I don’t believe that a North Carolina without immigrants is a good idea. What kind of country would America be without immigrants? My ancestors came in 1725 and I don’t recall whether they were “legals” or not. At least, I haven’t seen any papers to prove it, either way. I rather like having different kinds of people around. It’s less boring that way.

  12. Thanks for stopping by, Brett, but you do realize that your comment has absolutely nothing to do with the issue discussed in the post, right? Everyone else reading here sure does.
