Ignoring the Constitution

I wish people would just stop referring to the Constitution as the “Supreme Law of the Land.” It is not, plain and simple. Yes, it was designed to be. Yes, it’s supposed to be. And yes, no man is supposed to be above the law of the Constitution. But that’s not reality. The Constitution is a moldy document on display in the National Archives. It’s a nice document to study academically in schools and universities. But it simply is not being used today as a basis of government. Instead, we now live under the rule of whatever whims our superiors (Congress, the Supreme Court, and the President) desire, and literally nothing more.

Obama’s not even in office (even if he’s not eligible under the Constitution) and already he’s violating the Constitution with his appointment of Hillary. She is absolutely not eligible for appointment to the Secretary of State. There is no question, no doubt, it’s absolutely and completely clear –in the Constitution — that she cannot be appointed to that position.

No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office.

It doesn’t get any more plain than that. It doesn’t matter if the Democrats in the Senate vote to appoint her — when they do, it will simply be more clear that the Senate does not support the Constitution. It really doesn’t get any more clear than this. But she will be appointed, and she will be confirmed by the Senate. And every last Senator who votes yes will make it clear that they do not support the Constitution, that they are clearly violating their own oaths of office, and that the Constitution is NOT the law of this country.
