School Upset With Laws

Have you seen the latest school district that is extremely angry with the police for enforcing laws? They’re absolutely IRATE that the police department would have the unmitigated gall to infiltrate their sanctuary and attempt to actually enforce any laws. It’s so bad that “the kids are scared.” And apparently, according to these school officials and parents, kids who break the law should not be scared because that’s just not nice.

Roswell Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Mike Kakuska said the RISD has officially protested the police enforcing the law on “their” property:

“We are very, very concerned as a public school as to what happened the other day,” said Kakuska, addressing a group of about 50 parents who gathered at RHS Friday morning. “The police officer, without our knowledge, had this young lady brought into his office here at school and the detain orders were issued through him, not the Roswell schools.”

In other words, the school is saying, “This is our independent nation. Police are not allowed here unless we invite them. If they show up again, we would fight them, except we’re not allowed to have guns here. We have removed all ‘resource’ officers (policemen) from our schools and will not allow them back in. We make our own rules here and we don’t give a damn what laws get passed by government. If our students break the law, we WILL give them absolute sanctuary and protect them from the evil police who attempt to enforce traffic and other laws here.”

It shouldn’t amaze me these days, but it really does. This school district is openly declaring themselves completely and utterly independent of the State of New Mexico and the United States. They are openly saying that they will not permit law enforcement from the county, state, or country in their lands. If there were justice in the world, the entire administration would be immediately thrown out of office. But they’re bureaucrats and they will never, ever be fired. If they can’t be fired, all federal, state, and local money should immediately be stopped going to this school. If they want to be independent, they should be completely independent. Unfortunately, the reality in this cesspool called “America,” they’ll be rewarded for their treasonous and unlawful behavior. Why is it that I follow the law? Oh right, because I’m not part of the government.

  1. Schools, particularly public but also some private ones, will do anything to avoid bringing in the police. One reason is that police reports generate negative publicity. The taxpayers might just find out that their tax dollars, supposedly supporting fine educational systems, are being wasted.

And, as you say, schools have set themselves up as little nations, above local and state laws.

  2. Even if it’s a private school, I just don’t get the mentality that says, “Oh, gee, we can’t enforce laws THERE.”

Maybe John Edwards is right — there’s two Americas today. Not, however, based on wealth as Edwards claims, but based on government privilege. One America is the schleps that obey the law and get punished by government. The other America is the government employees who do what they want on the backs of working people.

  3. Don’t ya’ll appreciate the fact that we are ALL FINANCIERS!!! Regular Entrepreneurs! We are all financing Big Government and a lot of PORK! I commented on the newspaper article saying that if that principal had a student holding a knife to his throat, I’m sure he would want that student protected from the Bad Police and punish anyone who called them in… right? He’d be eating through a$$holes to get to a phone and dial 911!!!!!!!! Excuse me if my euphanism is a bit crude, but it describes it aptly.

  4. No, no, if the student had a knife to his throat, he would ask for counselors. He would want to analyze the “root” of the student’s problem. And under no circumstances would be it be the poor child’s fault.

  5. You know the guy would open a can of “Instant Hippocrite” and down the whole thing Ogre! LOL!!!

  6. I bet he’d blame Bush, somehow.

  7. Yes, and the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” too!!!

  8. Anyone BUT the student or the school that would be responsible.
