Pittenger For Lt. Governor

Robert Pittenger is running for Lt. Governor of North Carolina. He’s announced that he will be running on the Republican ticket. I’m not sure that there’s EVER been a Republican Lt. Governor of North Carolina. I haven’t heard of any other Republicans who currently plan to challenge him. That means his only opposition will be whatever pile of Democrats who decide they want to run for this position.

I just received a letter from Patrick Ballantine. He asked me to support Robert Pittenger. For those who don’t know him, Patrick Ballantine was a state senator and the Republican candidate for governor in 2004. Patrick was one of the very few Republican leaders in the entire state who actually supported me when I ran for the senate. Needless to say, I like Patrick Ballantine. He’s also a conservative and appears to really like freedom. That’s good enough for me.

So, if Patrick Ballantine says that Robert Pittenger should get my support, I’m going to support him. If you’re in North Carolina, keep watch for the name Robert Pittenger. He may just be the next Lt. Governor.
