They really do hate guns — in the hands of individuals. Sure, they want their side armed, but they honestly cannot stand for people to be armed. They believe people are too stupid to have guns and at the same time they’re terrified — and they should be. A good government fears it’s people.
Well said again Ogre. That was in essence the one control our founders wanted in place to keep the government in check, of that I am sure. It was like if they were going to risk everything to make this a new country founded on freedom they wanted to make sure it stayed that way.
And yet amazingly, a lot of people still support Democrats. I wonder if these people just don’t understand the position of Democrats or if they honestly want socialism. I suspect some of both.

I saw her this morning. I was greatly impressed with her professional manner in discussing it and explained what happened and what she did. I’m with you Angel, I bet she’s no Demo. I don’t think the MSM is going to report on this one the way they would VT either. After VT it was nothing but “We need gun control”. I don’ t hear them pointing out that because someone was there at the church armed, lives were saved.
Indeed, it’s a very clear example of using guns to SAVE lives, but the media, with it’s very clear bias against private ownership, will NEVER say that.

Sad but true. I was thinking (and yes, it was a painful experience! LOL!) this morning, that I don’t even recognize the Democrat Party. At some point, probably when Al Gore decided to push NAFTA, they quit being about the “Working Class in America” and started being about “The Workers Party” (Socialism). I know they have evolved in that direction. It seems like some of the brightest people I have ever known has “shut their ears and eyes” and have gone into denial about it.
Did you ask government permission to think? Did you think any hateful thoughts? It sounds like you’re having hateful thoughts about socialists. I think you need to turn yourself in right now to the local authorities before they have to come and arrest you.

As if this is the only issue of importance. Millions of working class without insurance, failing public schools, monthly gas bills higher than grocery bills, hundreds of soldiers being killed and maimed, 9/11 heroes without needed medical care for their complications…
And the only issue you people are concerned about are guns, so you will throw another Republican in the White House to further ruin this country.
This is what Obama was talking about when he was taken out of context for saying that small town Americans were clinging to guns and religion. He was talking about the middle and working class people who were voting Republican in the name of guns and religion and as a result really voting against their own interests. Because when it comes down to what truly matters day to day, for the working and middle class, ie. making the mortgage, paying for prescriptions, putting food in the kids mouths, paying for college, putting the kids in an academically acceptable school…Republicans could give a crap.

How is that slavery? I hate when people throw around the terms “slavery” or “nazi” etc.
I have no problem with guns; I’m from Texas, lol. I just have more important issues to worry about, and wish people would focus on what’s most important. God I wish my greatest political issue was the 2nd amendment. I believe in the 2nd amendment. But I could never vote another Republican in the White House, yes I voted for Bush twice. I used to be a Republican at one point because like many I focused on one or two issues (Abortion and Religion) and that is why I gravitated to the Party, but then I woke up and realized that two out of 50 issues is not enough for me to stand with a Party that is essentially not looking out for most of my other interest. Now I am a conservative Democrat (its not an oxymoron) that is my only point. There are issues that many Democrats stand for that I disagree with but for the most part they are the party that stands for the middle class. That’s my point, call it what you want.
Oh there can be conservative Democrats. I think I know 3 Democrats on the planet who actually support the second amendment, however. Today, if you like the second amendment, neither Republicans or Democrats (as a party) agree with you.
And if you honestly think the Democrats stand for the middle class, you should do a little more research. Well, I guess it’s accurate in the Democrat world — where the words “middle class” mean people who don’t pay taxes (and usually don’t work). If you earn more than about $35-40K per year, Democrats consider you part of the “rich.”
