2007 Tea Party
In six days it will be December 16th. This is an important anniversary in the history of America that many people don’t mark. On December 16th, 1773, American colonists dumped tea into the Boston Harbor to protest an oppressive tax. It was an important event in the history of America and helped define the unique American culture that will not stand for abuse and oppressive taxation.
Today’s taxes are tremendously higher and much more punitive. In many places of this country, people honestly have no say in their representatives, giving us another government that enacts taxation without representation. If you think taxes are too high, if you think taxes are oppressive today, I invite you to join with me this December 16th, Sunday, in this generation’s protest against those high taxes. Join me with Tea Party 07.
Now you don’t have to travel to Boston. You don’t have to dress up as an Indian. And you don’t have to risk arrest at the hands of a government who continues those taxes. Instead, you can just sit at home at your computer and send a message to this government that you’ve had enough. You don’t have to be Republican or Democrat, you don’t even have to be registered to vote. But you can contribute to the message that we’ve simply had enough. Won’t you consider this Sunday making a donation of any size to the Ron Paul campaign?
I’m not asking you to vote for Ron Paul — just to help send a message. If there’s enough donations on that day, every presidential candidate from every party will sit up and take notice. Politicians understand money more than anything else. If the people of America stand up and donate more to Ron Paul than ever before, the politicians will notice — and they will notice it’s clear that people have had enough with the higher taxes. Over 27,000 people have already pledged to donate at least $100 — including me.
Join the revolution now — while it’s still peaceful — and send a message to politicians everywhere.

I may do just that. I can’t afford much right now, but it is always good to send a message and contributing anything does that I’m sure.
He got some attention last time when he raised more than any other Republican in one day. I think if he does it again, and beats the told total, people ARE going to notice.
Hopefully it will spurn some curiosity and people will look at him more closely instead of looking at him as a “nutcase/truther” candidate. That’s what needs to happen to free him from the constraints he’s had.
It’s truly amazing the things that people think about Ron Paul that are simply not true. But then again, it’s not amazing because a lot of people have a vested interest in expanding government. A lot of people vehemently hate Ron Paul — not because he’s wrong or a nutcase — but because he would stop their gravy train.
I don’t think it helps that Ron appears to be smaller, softer spoken, more reserved than most of the candidates. More charismatic candidates or the ones that speak more forcefully get noticed… and of course the money behind them doesn’t hurt. I think when he gets the funds to really put things out there, many will change their perception of him Ogre. Just having you explain more about him to me, as a middle man per se, has helped appreciate rather than view him as a nutjob (which I did because someone I know is a “truther nutjob” and has sent me promotional stuff for Dr. Paul. That plays a big role in how I “was” percieving him, believe me. Thank you for taking the time to explain so muich to me, it is appreciated.
Oh, absolutely. I’m not sure if it’s the money as much as you mention — that he’s just not “slick” enough to be president. I’ve read reviews of others that talk about someone having to “look” presidential. I just think the issues here are so much more important than just how someone looks. And I hope Paul gets $10 million this week. That would absolutely blow the minds of a lot of people!
And as you say, the amount raised this week will send a message. I’m with you, just how many bad Presidents has this country had that “looked Presidential” anyway??? Are the American people going to elect the Anti-Christ just because he “looks Presidential”??? I have wondered serveral times about that since I’ve heard the same thing about Mitt Romney [He looks presidential... but will tax us like a Democrat doughhead!]
I’ve heard a number of people that will vote for Hillary only because she’s female. I think we’d be a lot better off if only landowners could vote.
