NC Government Creates… More Government!
Once again, government shows that it is incapable of doing anything right. Government created a situation (by increasing in size). Then government decided that the situation they created was a “problem” (by spending money). So now government decides that they need to “solve” this new “problem” by, yes, spending MORE money building fishing piers that no one really wants. And YOU are going to pay for it, no matter where you live in America, because YOUR tax dollars will be used.
You see, government raised the property taxes and regulated the industry near the coast to the point where it was economically impossible to build new fishing piers or even repair old ones. Therefore, working people decided it would not be too smart to just throw money into the ocean, so they didn’t build any. Now this wasn’t a problem until a bunch of government bureaucrats decided that it was a problem. So they created the problem completely from scratch, and now they know that only they (with your money) can fix that new problem.
They want to build piers. Oh, they’re going to be “hurricane resistant,” too. And they’ll first raise your taxes to pay for them, then they’ll staff them with MORE government bureaucrats and they’ll charge you even MORE money to use the darn things. This just shows that government really and truly sucks. There’s absolutely NO reason the government should be concerned with this issue at all. They are quite literally only existing to create more government and more government jobs. It’s wrong, plain and simple. But they don’t care because it’s not their money.

Why Ogre dear, how will they ever claim that they “improved infastructure and created jobs” in the next election if they don’t waste tax payers money fixing things that don’t need fixed in areas that they shouldn’t even butt into??? This stuff is just pure socialism, Big Brotherism at it’s best. They do this in the corporate world too. Sit in conference rooms far away from the “reality of the business” and make decisions to fix things that don’t need fixed and spend away profits doing it!!! It is amazing our economy hasn’t colapsed years ago! What a bunch of morons. You can be absolutely certain we will have dams bursting, and more bridges colapsing but our government will be proud of those fishing piers nobody needed!
I don’t care if corporations do it — that’s their business and I can choose not to do business with those I don’t like. With government, it’s my cash they’re using and I simply do not have the option to NOT participate in such crap!
Yeah, there in lies the same problems our founding fathers faced. The same reason they dumped English Tea in Boston Harbor. They were being taxed to purportrate the agenda of the Monarchy in England and not being allowed a say. Right now, about the only thing I’d like to dump in Boston Harbor are many of the politicians and bureaucrats leading the taxation charge in this country.
